I used to race MTB at an international level, but now put my energy and money into photography.

I can't imagine the feeling when an air-raid siren is signalling a threat to living. When it means life or death, and you need to find a safe place asap - to survive.
In Lviv I can be comforted by the minimal risk an air-raid siren signals. More a precaution for public safety...

Third air-raid siren of the day here in the Western city Lviv.
Sirens throughout the day put the lively city on pause; stores and restaurants shutter until the siren signalling all clear comes. Then, businesses open their doors resuming services as usual.

I think no matter where you are or what you're doing, an air-raid siren will always bring a level of anxiety. Heart rate elevates and your arbitrary thoughts dissapear, being consumed by the sounds...

I've finally watched "Winter on Fire - Ukraine's fight for freedom".
It does a fantastic job of demonstrating the Ukrainian's desire for freedom and Western values. Shows their will to fight for a Ukraine free of russian and soviet influence.

I've been in Istanbul, Turkey the last few days, and took this photo of two women in front of a mosque.
I quite like it, but I'm kicking myself that I didn't take a few more seconds to recompose, and centre the spire of the dome between them!
I guess with experience you learn..!

Film is not dead.
I shot the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide partly on 35mm film. Fantastic experience learning what photos look good on film, and how different the process is to digital. In such a fast paced environment, slowing down to think is ever more important.
