Today is my mama heavenly birthday! Her death still feels so surreal but today i didn't feel heavy. I was able to post something nice about my mom, I was able to try to remember her as the person she was. Bc she was my mom, but she was also her own person. I try to remember that.

Building community in your 40s/midlife can be hard but I also feel like folk severely underestimate the massive impact of just showing up at the same place repeatedly until you become a regular. That’s how I rebuilt community after my parents died and my life collapsed.
Gen Z so have problems that are distinct to them but many of the things they experience has to do with human nature. They're not the first and they won't be the last to be romantically confused, socially anxious, and unsure about the future. We and they treat them as anomalies
For the men*. The Men’s team is not the default. Let’s not act like the women don’t have 4 stars on their jersey. Great for the men, but I’m sick of outlets pretending the women’s teams and World Cup do not exist.
