صبح میں نے لاہور سے
"Daewoo express"
کے ذریعے واپس گھر(ملتان) کیلئے نکلنا تھا۔ میرے ساتھ ایک عزیز(جو کولیگ اور فیملی فرینڈ بھی ہیں) تھے۔ ٹھوکر پر بس رکی تو وہ کچھ کھانے کو لینے کیلئے نیچے اُتر کر ابھی گئے ہی تھے کہ ڈرائیور نے بس چلا دی۔
میں نے بس ہوسٹس کو بلایا، بیل بجائی، ڈرائیور کو آوازیں دیں، آگے جا کر بتایا کہ ابھی رُکیں ایک پیسینجر نیچے ہیں وہ آتے ہونگے۔ کسی نے نہیں سُنی اور جواب مِلا کہ ہم اس میں کچھ نہیں کر سکتے۔
لاکھ سمجھانے کی کوشش کی کہ بھائی وہ اپنا فون بھی سیٹ پر چھوڑ گئے ہیں میں رابطہ نہیں کر پا رہی۔ دو منٹ کیلئے بس روکنے سے کچھ نہیں ہو جائے گا۔
المختصر میری کوئی بات نہیں سُنی گئی یہاں تک کہ میں نے چِلا چِلا کر کہا کہ آپ انکو نہیں بِٹھا سکتے تو مجھے
یہیں اُتار دیں میں اتنا سامان اکیلے نہیں سنبھال پاوں گی۔

کوئی جواب نہیں!! کسی کو کوئی فرق نہیں پڑا۔۔
ٹرمینل پر فون کیا کال ایجنٹ سے بات کی سب کیا۔۔
مجھے کچھ سمجھ نہیں آ رہا تھا کہ اپنے کسٹمرز کے ساتھ یہ اتنی بے حسی کا مظاہرہ کیسے کر سکتے ہیں۔ تو خیال آیا کہ پوسٹ کرنی چاہیے ۔

Panjabis did not receive Islam from Afghan Pashtuns. The historical record shows the opposite. Let’s talk history, not myth.

Islam entered the region through Sindh in the 8th century under Muhammad ibn Qasim and spread into Punjab centuries before it reached the Suleiman Mountains, the homeland of Pashtun tribes.

By the time Mahmud of Ghazni rose to power, Punjab was already integrated into an Islamic political and cultural sphere. Cities like Lahore were established centers of administration, trade, and scholarship, while Sufi figures such as Ali Hujwiri helped embed Islam deeply in Punjabi society.

In contrast, the Suleiman region was a frontier. Afghan Pashtun tribes were not spreading Islam outward; they were on the margins of an expanding Islamic order. Mahmud’s campaigns there were about securing routes and imposing control, not converting Punjab.

The direction is clear: Islam spread from Sindh and Punjab into frontier regions, not from Pashtun mountains into Punjab.

The claim that Pashtuns Islamized Punjab is not history. It is a myth.
