This week the Guardian's owner, the Scott Trust, gifted the 233-year-old Observer to Tortoise Media.
This isn't just a dark day for journalism, it's a sign.
Meet the team.
This is Putin giving Tortoise's energy advisory board member an 'Order of Friendship' medal in 2017.

@carolecadwalla Ahh, I see he moved to the FT last month. Relieved to see he has kept his integrity; presumably he got wind of this deal and made a tough decision. https://t.co/mNWWadHWib
@carolecadwalla A major reason for me initially holding Tortoise in high esteem was their strong association with Paul Caruana Galizia. As far as you know have they now parted ways? Neither seems to reference the other anymore; odd/sad given his involvement was crucial to their early credibility

We've built a database of videos, photos and social media posts. Where possible we’ve identified those who appear.
It reveals a range of illegal activities, from wanton destruction and looting to demolitions of neighbourhoods and murder. #GazaCrimes
@ThangamDebb @TimesRadio Was going to ask if it was a deliberate choice to not mention the deaths in Gaza or just an oversight due to live radio. Seemed odd given your experience. Was hoping you might acknowledge the error afterwards. Just seen the Times headline tho, makes their editorial position clear
