We have seen Weird Times in this country before, but this year is beginning to look super weird. This time, there really is nobody flying the plane. . . . We are living in dangerously weird times now. Smart people just shrug and admit they’re dazed and confused.
The only ones left with any confidence at all are the New Dumb. It is the beginning of the end of our world as we knew it. Doom is the operative ethic.
People with ADHD have what’s called an “interest-based nervous system.” They literally can’t force themselves to care about things that bore them.
It’s not a choice. It’s not willpower. Their brains physically won’t produce the neurochemicals needed to engage unless something triggers interest, urgency, novelty, or challenge.
ADHD is getting a new idea so powerful that your brain performs an emergency reboot.
For 3 hours, you aren't a person with bills, a messy kitchen, or a looming deadline. You are a god-tier architect of a project you just invented.
The dopamine is free, the vibes are elite, and reality is a distant memory.
ADHDers are always exhausted
Not from doing too much, but from thinking about doing too much.
ADHD brains never stop overthinking in the background, and that makes even simple things exhausting.
What they don't see:
-Grinding 12 hour days
-Sleepless nights
-Self doubt
-Being cheated
-Torching your bankroll
-Losing for weeks/months/years
-Getting scammed
What they see:
-Success from luck
So many ADHD'ers (and people in general) are taught that being lost in their thoughts isn't productive.
However, cognitive labour is labour! If you're thinking, planning, coming up with ideas, or struggling to get started with a task, you ARE working
JUST IN: Gov. Ron DeSantis on ending property taxes statewide
"You buy a home, you buy land... and then, you've been taxed many times [on that]... is it your property, or not? Just for being on your property, you've got to write a check to the government every year?"
"A lot of people can't afford that. That's a big issue. We're going to be looking at ways to bring people relief from that."
@RodRobSr I’d be willing to bet that damn near none of the classless clowns making those comments have ever stepped foot on campus at UGA as an actual student…
This year UGA is 112th in the country in penalty yds per game assessed against its opponents. Last year it was 121st. The year before that it was 122nd. On behalf of all UGA fans, please know we are uninterested in any hot takes about officiating.
