@MoseyDm I have extensive world notes...but one of my players takes really good in session notes as their ADHD coping mechanism, so we all scan those afterwards and distribute them approprately. Otherwise, everyone scans and trades their notes via rocketbook since we play irl.
@roknrolzombie What? You dont know the dude who played Hercules? You know, the dude, show, and charachter not as cool as Xena, despite being the same genre, setting, plotlines, and producers?
Next week we are taking a trip of medium spontaneity (concieved last week, no reservations) to 4 WWI sites...Verdun, Marne, Somme, & Vimy. As bonus, if we can fit it in, we might also go to Schoenenbourg's Maginot line fortifications, since its enroute.
One of the things I occasionally get paid to do by companies/execs is to tell them why everything seemed to SUDDENLY go wrong, and subs/readers dropped like a stone.
So, with everything going on at Twitter rn, time for a thread about the Trust Thermocline /1
@SarahMackAttack I'd look at birds native to your area & neighborhood habitat, then build boxes specific to those species, especially for rare species, with considerations for trying not to attract invasive species. Also, look at what you can plant to attract birds...
@esther0672@Samuraiko@CriticalRole I have such a love-hate relationship with that add... its simultaneously like a train wreck and fingernails on a chalkboard. I want to watch, but cringe every time.
@zestytweetz @CatKnitty My hs had girls on the football & wrestling teams before one felt comfy staying on the chess team.
Half these dudes are just pissed popular hot chics thought their hobby was silly & now some of the nerdy girls they wouldn't let play because they were girls are 🔥 and discerning.
@CatKnitty @AntoniaAndros @JessoLaurus @pastelmushroom As former 14 yo nerd, once told I couldnt play because I was a girl, they can fuck right off. White GenX straight cis boy nerds were some of the biggest misogynistic jackasses.
They've always been gatekeepers.
@wildepix@meagankenrekt Our entire bodies are covered in bactera, inside & out. We are ecosystems, with more bacterial cells than human. & thats good--we need most of them; they do important stuff. Unless the university students had infections, those bacteria were harmess & maybe even beneficial.
@DevronAlistar@Urizen_@A_DungeonDelver BS. I'm very much over 35. Being bullied for being a nerd back in the day isn't an excuse for being a gatekeeping bully now. Dnd was frequently a bigoted, misogynistic shitshow when I started playing. There's no reason to respect the people that cant grow past that.
@RPG_Lump @FNDungeonMom@A_DungeonDelver There's no point responding to someone once they've insicated they lack the ability to understand Popper's Paradox of Tolerance. Its a fruitless endeavor of diminishing returns.
@Superdillin @DarthSurrealish @A_DungeonDelver Yup. Also 35+. My *you're a girl & cant play dnd* nerdy self wasn't allowed to play with the peeps I knew played, for quite some time. I was in my 20s & in the Navy before I finally found dudes that let me play.
Being bullied isnt justification for now being a gatekeeping bully.
@AnnaFromA2@feliciaday This is why I hated the school attendance awards. I get why they were implemented (even though they dont do that at all).
Call it what it really is: "the vector award--for the kid that always got sent to school sick"
@feliciaday Yes. I mean...hubby and I have both missed a few days of work this week from the plague our 13 and 15 yo brought home from school, so don't get too hopeful that it will go away just because they get older. Luckily the frequency declines a wee bit after 1st/2nd grade...
