Today there was an emergency situation with a deaf woman in Rajasthan who was being physically & emotionally abused by her own family.
Despite being educated, she was unable to seek help as all helplines (Police, NCW, Disability etc. ) were audio based. It almost took me an entire day, but with @NCWIndia pro-active support, the matter was resolved. This is not the first time & I have seen hundreds of such cases.

It is an urgent appeal & request @sharmarekha ji , please appoint sign language interpreters at NCW who can assist in taking complaints through video calls from deaf women & providing accessibility during counseling. So many deaf women are physically, mentally, emotionally & sexually abused at home, neighbourhood, school, workplace & in society but have no where to go & seek support as no one understands sign language.
Without accessibility, these cases will never come up - and these deaf women are forced to suffer endlessly & some even die by suicide. There is no safe space for these deaf women.
This is a serious issue and Rights for Persons with Disability (RPWD) 2016 clearly states that full access must be there ; but so far no government action has been taken so far. Deaf girls & women are also women.

We could also include foundational life skills as well to this. It's easier to build stronger children than repair broken adults, so looking at the world today, unless we include social emotional learning & life skills from the very beginning - it would be extremely difficult to cope with the instantly changing feeds & unpredictable societal needs.
Maybe it's time to relook at the way we view education.
