@FedExHelp@FedEx should be embarrassed at this level of customer service. 2 hours on old without an explanation for why an overnight package hasn’t arrived.
@controlthezone @EthanLudlam The team’s done pretty well with that constraint, trading low minors guys for a true impact talent, but if we want sustainability then the team should probably chill for a bit on raiding the cupboard and use the money it appears they’re refusing to spend instead.
@controlthezone @EthanLudlam Braves fans were pretty pissed the team chose Olson over Freeman.
A pretty huge difference is the Ms look to be at the point where they’re not expecting meaningful help from the farm for the next year+. Maybe they’ve got another 3/4 starter or fringe OF com ing up and that’s it
@rfm_732@MarinersSteve To be clear, for that reason, I don't think the Ms will be able to pull off a trade for him.
He's an elite bat locked into a below-market contract. The Rays already have a rep for sticking to sky-high asking prices for controlled guys. For Lowe, they'll demand the moon.
@rfm_732@MarinersSteve A healthy Brandon Lowe is a top-15 hitter in the league, with a better batting line from 2019-21 than guys like Pete Alonso, Mookie Betts, & Paul Goldschmidt. He gives a bit back on defense but I wouldn't call that a lateral move.
@MarinersSteve Lowe, but I suspect the Rays would demand a king's ransom for him (or, if they don't, I'd be suspicious they know something beyond what teams would see in a physical about his likelihood of long-term health).
@CaseySadler65 Ugh, this stings. You’re a class act and I’ll never forget your run of lights-out appearances in the most exciting month of baseball this team had seen in over a decade. Best of luck and congrats to the fanbase that gets you next.
@Crawford_MILB Hope he gets paid wherever he lands. Seems a great guy and something of a symbol of just how badly the service time rules screw guys over. Didn't reach Arb1 until his 14th year as a pro after playing in the majors for part of 6 different seasons. Shouldn't be allowed.
@bballhist @notgaetti@ckossnumbers Yeah, I can too. People hate strikeouts and low batting averages. Add in the dead ball this year and I get the frustration w/ball in general & also w/coming around to the idea that a .720 OPS is really good actually.
I say lower the mound a quarter-inch and see what that does.
@notgaetti@ckossnumbers Why not compare Suarez to Suarez?
2017: .260/.367/.461, 115 OPS+
2022: .223/.329/.413, 116 OPS+
It's like when the run environment changes & you move from a hitter's park to pitcher's park, your league and park-adjusted stats & your raw numbers might tell a different story.
@controlthezone @zipkidcw Not to add to your worries, but the strong April is the only thing making Crawford's season line look acceptable, and the org seems to think he's unmovable, even for a bona fide star.
@KatyPixley @DrLeslieCarr @LukewSavage She’s not Meghan Mccain or anything but she hasn’t exactly tried to distance herself from the family name/legacy.
@KatyPixley @DrLeslieCarr @LukewSavage I mean, she only lived in Wyoming for a couple years in middle school. Her choice to run in Wyoming was a clear carpetbagging move to capitalize on her father’s legacy. So much so that she was rejected the first time she tried it (when she tried to primary Enzi).
