Thank-you so much Ben for posting this. I appreciated Shelly’s posts very much as they were never meant to be harmful; instead they were just uplifting. I prayed for her strength and that she would be filled with joy. She had mentioned at the start of the year that her New Year’s resolution was Romans 12. I decided that would be mine as well. I started reading it near daily for a time. I ended up leading a Bible study covering Romans 12 for our small missions team headed to Brazil in a few days and may end up talking about it in Brazil as well. I’m sorry for your loss, Ben, but as you say, she is now in the arms of our Lord. I will pray for you, Ben, and your family as you work through this difficult time.

Why does no one care?

I have just stumbled across a huge smuggler network on Tiktok. It's insane.

They openly post their phone numbers and advertise their "services" on the platform, getting thousands of likes and replies full of prospective illegal immigrants. This includes forged passports, so called safe routes into Europe, and food/drinks and rooms to sleep on the way.

It's a massive operation.

Smugglers film the men they're smuggling, ask them if they're "happy customers", and boast about the accommodation and food provided while they do their smuggling.

The migrants are mainly Afghan men, as are the smugglers. Many obtain fake Iranian passports, which is why many "Iranian" criminals in the West are actually Afghans with fake identities. They arrive in the West presenting themselves as Iranian, so that when many of them commit rape and murder, it gets falsely pinned on Iranians.

Once again, illegal immigration is a BOOMING BUSINESS on Tiktok, and nothing seems to be done to stop it.

They're so confident and secure in their operation that they're not only literally using Western social media to facilitate this - they post their own contact info and expect nothing to happen to them.

Tiktok and social media giants have a responsibility to shut this down. The invasion of the West is being advertised on Western platforms and apps.

It's MADNESS.

@NJBeisner I do not see how one can read the Bible with a literal mindset and conclude that the Church is the new Israel. It takes a lot of allegory to get there. The whole notion to me as a Christian seems arrogant, which seems kinda scary considering Romans 11:16-21.

The older I get the more that I am of the opinion that college for most people is truly a scam. So many people take on massive student debt because - like you said - they were brainwashed into thinking they had to go to college to succeed in life. In the end about 1/3 rd of the degree programs are essentially useless and that’s if you even graduate. In either case, you still have to pay off the debt while working a near entry level job. I’m glad that you made it work; that’s the bigger accomplishment rather than just earning the degree.

I read your post about how your parents treated you when you turned 18 and the aftermath. It’s truly sad; I hope things are better for you all now.

I’d say they’re true friends if they truly love you all the time. I’d say they love you if among other things they truly want the best for you and that would include offering to host the Bible study at one of their homes from time to time or perhaps have it at a neutral location like a public library or Dunkin.

@AzPetrich Universal Health Care is a red herring. The real question is how do we get healthcare costs down while maintaining or improving the quality of care. If the costs remain elevated, universal health care only means less care.
