Sharing my new portfolio of work.
The last time I worked on my portfolio was 5 years ago really outdated.
After months of procrastinating, I finally got to work on a new one.
Still adding more to it, but this is where it's at for now.
The work I shared explains a couple of things:
How I work
What I've built
How I use AI, Claude, and AI systems
Design scoping and product decisions
About me
PS: I'm in search of a new role, Freelance or Full-time.
I'm interested in building things that take people from where they are to where they want to be.
For example: I was researching a company called Harvey AI — software helping lawyers use AI to write case briefs, perform citations, and chat with legal documents ($11bn company). I've built something similar.
Or having financial data and using AI to help people understand it through chat rather than spreadsheets. I've built something similar too.
There are several use cases here. If you're building something around this, let's talk.

Today’s TikTok tip : Setting up your phone
I’ll continue from where I stoped yesterday
When setting up a new phone , when you get to the screen where you are asked to enter your Apple ID
Don’t ever enter an Apple ID that has been used to formerly create an account before , you are likely to get banned if you create TikTok from it
Tap on create a new Apple ID , if it proceeds to the next screen , you are safe , if it does not , you will get a message that you can’t create Apple ID, this happens when you have used the phone to create too many Apple ID
Just leave the phone for a month and come back to it or get a new phone
For the first name and last name , i use the name of my account that I want to name
Also when creating passwords , don’t use the password that consist of any of the names you added , it won’t work, I don’t know why
After that enter your email address, don’t use a spam email or an email with + somerhing , Apple knows how to catch this well, you want to use a fresh email address , for this I use some of the emails I have already instead , we will use this email to verify the phone later
Now to the phone number side , for numbers, purchase as from juicysms and smspva for Apple number purchase , tried some other ones before but you just need a disposable number for this to verify that Apple account that’s all.
By now if you follow this guide you will be able to setup your phone
I’ll continue tomorrow , I’ll talk more about candy crush game in the iPhone setup, it’s one trick I learnt 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Feel free to ask any questions
Happy Friday, everyone!
Here's what we worked on this week with clients
It's been an incredible push across the board, a lot of moving pieces, but we love it.
First: Hero illustration for a timer app we're launching.
The client acquired the app and needed help leveling up their visuals. Our job was to create an illustration for the hero section that doesn't just look great — it converts. Every visual decision had to align with the scope of work while actually moving users to take action.
Second: Onboarding flow for an HR app.
The goal here was simple: make it feel simple. We'll go deeper on this next week, but the core focus was balancing Design Experience with Data Collection Experience, so the onboarding feels clean and intuitive rather than heavy and overwhelming. Also, shoutout to the grid system we used.
We worked with two types: a full 12-column grid and a sub 8-column grid. This one runs on the 8-grid.
Third: App Store screenshots for the timer app.
Beyond the UI work, the client also needed help with their App Store presence. Here we focused on ASO conversion, how to use screenshots and keywords to capture the right users. This is where a strong understanding of SEO really matters. You need to know the user search intent to get this right. More on this next week.
Fourth: Credit-based pricing system for Applygigs.
This one is a studio product of ours. We're transitioning from a pay-as-you-go plan to a credit-based pricing model, currently in development and shipping this week. The design work focused on how users move between the free tier and paid options, and how to make that journey feel natural. There are some interesting states for the pricing display cards, too. We'll share those soon.
Quick tip for designers: Add social proof to your pricing pages. For ours, we leaned into the number of job seekers already on the platform and the app's star rating. These visual cues do a lot of the decision-making heavy lifting for users.
If you're looking for a small studio that truly understands Design, SEO, and Development or you're a founder just getting started and need a team that gets it
We'd love to chat. More to come next week. Happy Friday! 🎉
How do you achieve consistency while working with clients
When we had a meeting with their product team on this project , it’s one of the questions that pop out from the developers and the CTO,
They wanted an Experinece that was seamless and at the same time they also wanted to be able to implement the designs pixel perfect
From our product side , here’s what we do
After aligning with the team on wireframes
We pick up everything and seperate them into likely component s
Think cards , lists , tables , poppups , top nav bars , pills , yan menuss , buttons ,
We create what’s called a foundation and from that foundation a lot of things can stem out
Foundations are basics for ensuring consistency across board ,
No matter how big the design is, once you establish foundations
Time to ship is reduced by 40% from design to development
All the devs need to do is to check your foundations file and work with it
Eg : A card can have foundation which include lists items ( single and double ) buttons , badges , checkbox and radio buttons
How are you achieving this with clients , pls share in the comments

AI will not take my job. Here's why
I see so much buzz going on the tech scene and lots of really cool graphic renders being generated by GPT 4.4 image models. The images are insanely good, really good, from image renders to graphic design and to mockups. AI is really changing the game.
But does it mean it takes away the creative game? No. I have said several times that AI will become enablers of technology and not replace them. The fact that AI can generate images and product shoots doesn't mean i won't get clients in that line. I feel it just brings a new wave of creative graphic designers out there.
I know some clients will be like, fuck it, i could spend $20/mo on chatgpt pro and still get the value you are giving me.
Trust me, not all clients will have to go and start prompting and prompting when they have other business dealings they need to work on. They will not do it. Why do you think there is a demand out there and people still keep on hiring graphic designers?
As creative, i think it's time to really be a generalist. Always keep on learning and learning and trying out new things.
E.g.: You are a graphic designer, learn motion design, learn how to make renders, learn how to use chatgpt to prompt better, learn video editing. The world keeps on advancing, you too need to advance yourself also,
Ask yourself: Am i upskilled enough
Ask yourself: How can i improve myself and get better 1% every day
Ask yourself: How can i deliver more value to clients
Ask Yourself: Am i willing to learn to get better
These are the core questions i really wish creative need to ask themselves and not be bothered about the fact that Ai is taking their jobs
Ai is not taking your jobs; it's just enabling you to work better and faster

You're sleeping too much
Life is hard, but it's more harder when you run a business
Just like Andrew Pearce who made 21m Euros selling two startups, making 15m from one and 6m euros from the other one, Entered the dragon's den to seek 80k pounds in exchange for 10% of his startup.
When narrating his story and pitching his startup, he said he spent 1.5m euros already on the business and they asked him where he got the money from and he started to explain how he made 21m euros profits to himself selling 2 startups bootstrapped.
in his speech, he was always like, let's try something different ( Why don't we tray video conferencing service) and his guts has always led him on
I have built 6 different startups, its just all about guys, the same way Andrew Pearce thinks about building is similar to mine.
I am always like, why don't we try something different, not everything is going to work out, trust me, there will be failures but you need to be able to embrace failures and learn from them.
Get obsessed about what others are building and go build yours,
The journey is hard trust me , but you got this

Typography sizes

Today, lets talk writing style
Justify left always
Use justify centre sparingly
Understand that people read from left to right
#buildinpublic
Nice one
Just a small feedback, Put the illustration on the right and the text on the left
It doesn't need a text at the bottom at all
Check out cowrywise for an example
i did something similar a long time ago
Also, improve the contrast of your illustrations
