Yep, you can get injured at any time. And, yes, I'd 100% love to see a perfect game (plus it's a career defining accomplishment).
But I'm also not gonna sit at my keyboard & act like I know better than the guys who are paid to make those decisions.
If Eury got hurt in the 8th, with an 8-0 lead, trying to get a PG, after his injury history, I'd expect people would be very vilifying the Marlins for letting him staying in the game.
Would 1-2 innings hurt him, almost definitely not. But I'm also not betting his (or my) career on it.
@DavidFCarty McLean (3285 rpms average) is pretty much in a class by himself, but there's also guys like Lugo (3205) & Connor Prielipp (3199)... and yes Morton always had a high spin rate (3020).
