@unfoldthesoul Unfortunately, the other 85 teachers have administrators that aren’t leaders & don’t encourage growth/improvement— it’s why so many are fleeing the profession & why I left after 28 yrs as an educator, a profession I was passionate abt but was slowly killing me from stress
@bweari#bwrsd has a shamefully long history of doing exactly this. Let’s just say that they only pay attention to due process when they’re forced to do so. Perhaps they can #DoTheRightThing THIS time!
@sage_stage In my district, we can’t remove Ss for not working. We’re to “inspire”/otherwise convince them to do it. If that’s not a success, we ignore them for the rest of class. Unless they become disruptive. But this is held against us for evaluation. Also, I just left w/ 10yrs to retire!
@RAD_is_awesome This disrespect for teachers & the enabling of student apathy & entitlement is one of the many reasons I left the classroom in Oct ‘23 after 28 yrs & w/ 10 yrs left before I cld retire. Hardest & best decision I’ve ever made. No more panic attacks before going to work every day
@MateoDunne @teachergrind I stayed for 28 yrs & left in Oct bc it was affecting my health. Teachers have become scapegoats of a system that’s failing— given more to do w/ less support & nothing taken off our plates, only piled higher & higher until we break. Kids aren’t the priority— scores/ratings are.
@MateoDunne @teachergrind It’s beyond repair. Sry to be dismal. I stayed longer than I shldve waiting for it to get better. It’s become a business, not an educational institution. The priority is to public-please & check off boxes, truths are hidden & twisted to look good for the BoE & st. are test scores
@teachergrind I left my classroom & teaching altogether in Oct after 28 yrs. Sooo happy in my new job— I wish I’d left yes ago before it affected my health so badly. But everything happens when/how it shld.
Here’s the main reason teachers are leaving the profession— read the article! These examples are more common than people realize/understand, from student behavior to admin responses. Completely unacceptable.

There’s an entire world out there, just waiting to be discovered for every one of us— the only limits are those we impose on ourselves. #nolimits#discovertheworld @ Bristol, Rhode Island https://t.co/jmAwrmr6aZ
@Used2BU@jztkddng@HeinzTweets Huh. Interesting. I was thinking that perhaps, the traditional “Hot Dog” Dog would run circles around the others, and therefore cap the other varieties by level of importance! 🤣🤣🤣
