Today, the City of Pittsburgh celebrated Immigrant Heritage Month by welcoming the Pittsburgh Xiabo Waist Drum Dance Group to the City-County Building.
The community-based troupe showcased traditional Chinese culture with waist drum dancing and a tea ceremony.
The City is continuing to invest in neighborhood infrastructure. Next week, our Pittsburgh Mobility and Infrastructure crews are continuing to mill and pave streets across Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire held a promotions ceremony in Council Chambers as five members of the bureau advanced to the next stage in their careers.
▪️ Firefighters Cash Cortazzo and William Russell were promoted to lieutenant
▪️ Lieutenants Stephen Williams and Joshua Colbert became captains
▪️ Captain Kenneth Walz was promoted to the rank of battalion chief

🔸 Healing Together Event: The Trauma Survivors Assistance Program hosted its quarterly event with 19 partner organizations to strengthen citywide trauma prevention, response, and treatment networks.
🔸 Seeds of Wellness Fair: The team supported this Northside resource fair, hosted by the Allegheny County Coalition for Recovery, to promote all pathways to recovery.
🔸 Community Lunch: OCHS partnered with the AHN Center for Inclusion Health to host a successful community lunch in Zone 5.
🔸 Senior Center Visit: Staff shared OCHS program resources at the Homewood Senior Center and connected attendees directly with vital services and assistance.

EMS Crew Recognition!
Pittsburgh EMS recently responded to two emergency calls involving babies who arrived ahead of schedule. In both instances, the crews delivered outstanding prehospital care. Both mothers and newborns arrived safely at the Emergency Department in stable condition.
This week, UPMC and the Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS recognized these nine individuals for their excellent care of a mother and newborn child in the prehospital setting.

EMS Training Tuesday!
Today marks one week until the recruits of Class 26-02 complete their Academy Training. Over the past two weeks, these Paramedics and EMTs have received training in the Pittsburgh EMS Clinical Core Programs, alongside refreshers in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS.
In addition to their core medical training, the class completed the Bureau's Rescue Medicine, Hazardous Materials Medicine, Active Threat Response, Water Rescue & Marine Operations Awareness, and Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training programs.
