Today, a new proposal was introduced in the Finance Bill 2026 that would require taxpayers to first pay the principal tax before filing an appeal.
Example: If KRA says a business owes Sh10 million in tax, the business would have to pay the Sh10 million before its appeal can be accepted.
If the business wins, KRA will refund the money or allow it to offset future taxes within 90 days.
We are coming from the Milimani Law Courts in the matter of Rex Masai.
The I.O states that;
In the arms movement register, Isaiah Murangiri was issued with a teargas launcher, but the same individual was seen in the murder scene carrying a small gun.
He says that Rex was shot from the back and the bullet went through his thighs and out through the other side and could not be recovered for forensic analysis
He says that there was no exhibit, neither the cartridge nor the bullet to compare with the fire arms that were handed over for assessment.
He adds that he requested for three firearms and only two firearms were handed over for analysis stating that the National Police Service deliberately obstructed the investigations through what he refers to as a Blue Code of Silence.
A blue code of silence also known as the blue wall of silence or a blue shield, are terms used to denote an informal code of silence among police officers, not to report on a colleague's errors, misconduct, or crimes, especially as related to police brutality.
The matter is set for ruling on the 30th of July 2026 virtually at 2:30pm.
NEW: Kimani Ichung’wah says State House and the Office of the President need more money because President Ruto hosted the President of France and such events cost money.
Eiiih, Ichung’wah.
Was it a matter of life and death for Kenya to host the French President when we're constantly being told the country is broke?
This is exactly the problem. When ordinary Kenyans are being asked to tighten their belts, the government is busy justifying more spending on prestige events.
If money is scarce, shouldn't every shilling go to hospitals, schools, roads, and lowering the cost of living?
Borrowing money to finance lavish state functions is like taking a loan to throw a party while your children are hungry.
The painful part is that they know the bill will eventually be passed to taxpayers through new taxes, fees, and levies.
This govt must go
This is a security breach. Will these Airport employees be expected to do their job after this? Is tipping government employees like tipping a waitress/waiter at Pronto, allowed? Maswali mengi hapa!
President William Ruto finally admits that the flurry of attention from Donald Trump and the ebola issue was all about minerals after all.
Ruto should go as soon as yesterday.

Today in the @Senate_KE, I will substantiate how public money is being hidden and stolen in plain sight through budget lines labelled “Other Operating Expenses.” OVER 90 BILLION!
If salaries, utilities, travel, maintenance, fuel, training, procurable items, and other expenditures already have specific vote heads, what exactly is hidden under this vague and ever-expanding category?
Even more troubling, the Constitution requires parliamentary approval for all public borrowing. Yet billions are spent under opaque budget lines that escape meaningful scrutiny.
Kenyans deserve transparency, not blank cheques for wastage, mismanagement, and theft. Every shilling collected from taxpayers must be traceable, justified, and accounted for.
The era of hiding public funds behind vague budget descriptions must come to an end. STAY TUNED
Families, Human Rights Defenders and active citizens have today submitted a notice at the National Police headquarters informing the police IG that on 25th June 2026 there will be a peaceful procession across the country in remembrance of the victims of 2024/25/26 protests.

If there is one person in East Africa who should be in jail, it is Muhoozi.
Yes, in jail.
Muhoozi behaves as if Uganda is his personal property.
Opposition supporters have been abducted.
Opposition supporters have been tortured.
Many Ugandans have been killed.
Many Ugandans live in fear.
And yet Muhoozi acts untouchable.
What shocks me most is not even the accusations.
It is how comfortable he seems talking about power, threatening opponents, and provoking critics on X while serious questions about human rights abuses remain unanswered.
He even appears to brag about some of these things on X.
So let me ask Muhoozi directly:
Why should Ugandans trust a man whose name is constantly linked to fear, intimidation, and repression?
Why should they believe you represent their future?
I know this will anger some people.
Good.
And you can tag him here. I care less.
But if Muhoozi ever reads this, I hope he sits down alone in his room.
Away from the cameras.
Away from the soldiers.
Away from the praise singers.
And asks himself one simple question:
"Am I really doing good for Uganda?"
Not for his family.
Not for his friends.
Not for his supporters.
For Uganda.
Because one day, power ends.
And when that day comes, every leader is left alone with their conscience.
Uganda deserves better.
COFEK moves to court to stop Sh375b JKIA expansion deal partly awarded to controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo's firm, IMC Construction, argues process secretive and tainted by corruption.
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka appeared in the Court of Appeal today, acting as the lead counsel to block the government's proposed multi-billion shilling sale of its Safaricom shares.
Mr. William Ruto and his boys are on a looting spree.
Acknowledging that his game over, they are saying it is injury time.
That is the mantra.
They are looting everything from struggling Kenyans. Kenya is simply fleeced.
Dry!
Just 13 days to the closure of the financial year 2024/25, they are stealing a whooping Kshs. 6.2 Billion through a supplementary budget in votes that are not audited.
The money to be drawn in cash through votes disguised as maintenance and operations, other operating expenses and security operations.
The cash is being siphoned through State House, Office of the Deputy President, state department of Internal Security and the National Intelligence Service.
This is money for bribing voters, paying goons, buying MPs and Senators, counter-productive empowerment programs and the Ol Kolou by-election.
This is happening when hospitals have no drugs, cancer patients are deep pain, our students have no capitation, university and college students have no funding, name it!
Lord God, please have Mercy on our beloved Country, Kenya!
Irungu Kang’ata: For me, when I compare this deal and Adani, assuming somebody asked me which one I would choose. Neither is a good deal, but I'd definitely choose the Adani deal; this is worse. The Adani deal was private; it was an entity doing construction using its own money and getting a concession to recoup that money. The taxpayer was not paying anything. This is one is the very opposite; the infrastructure fund is being used to fund this expansion of the airport. It means it is public money; if the deal goes wrong, the public loses money #JKLive
