South Africa plans to proceed with a nuclear agreement involving NATO countries.

Imagine how much they are willing to spend and the scale of the power station involved.

Under the Ramaphosa administration, the deal will cost $128 billion simply to construct 5.2 gigawatts of new nuclear capacity, all in the name of securing the country's energy future.

By contrast, Zuma's proposed deal with the Russians aimed for 9.6 gigawatts of nuclear capacity at a price of R1 trillion (about $76 billion).

WATCH: It has now emerged that the referral that got General Dumisani Khumalo arrested was sparked by a letter from the office of the suspended Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu.

The letter that was signed by Cedric Nkabinde, the Chief of Staff, was based on a complaint from MP Fadiel Adams.

IDAC then contacted Adams to file an affidavit so that it can become a formal referral and get Khumalo and others behind bars - KZN Tonight Podcast

BREAKING NEWS: Suspended Inspector General of Intelligence, Imtiaz Fazel, had his security clearance revoked for allegedly leaking classified information to a member of parliament and a prominent journalist.
Fazel’s marriage to a Moroccan woman who works at the Doha embassy in Pretoria was also raised as a red flag.
He was nominated for the position by two DA members of parliament and motivated by a senior member of ANC in parliament.
As IG, Fazel is believed to have made several questionable international trips to Jordan, in the Middle East, Iran, Brazil, New York and New Orleans, where he was reportedly accompanied by a former apartheid defence intelligence operative, whom he recruited to the IG’s office.
One suspended police general is alleged to have been a frequent visitor at the IG’s office and the leader of the National Coloured Congress, Fadel Adams, also visited Fazel in his office in November 2024 after opening a case against crime intelligence boss, Lieutenant General Dumisani Khumalo, at Orlando Police and in Cape Town.
Adams opened six similar cases against Khumalo at different police stations.
But in his affidavit challenging the withdrawal of his security clearance and subsequent suspension by President Cyril Ramaphosa, Fazel is telling a different story.
