Release your imagination and build your ideal game without the hassle. Available on Steam! Published by Gotcha Gotcha Games & part of the Maker family of tools!
User VicariousExp posted this on our official Discord, and I wanted to share it with everyone! It's still early according to the dev, but I love to see people exploring different genres with #AGMaker!

@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire Also consider a Radeon 5600 XT, similar price and more powerful but 6GB VRAM. Check local stores for deals; sometimes they add a 6 month warranty to used cards. And yes, PGMMV would much improved too!
Walls, cars, or buildings:
There is something intrinsically enjoyable about beating up infrastructure with your bare hands.

We get a lot of questions about #AGMaker and the Steam Deck (and thus Linux). It works, but here's the proof:

Game + editor running, thanks to the power of #GodotEngine's lightweight nature!

@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire Indeed. I don't know where you live or your financial status. For ultra budget, I think the 12 year old GTX 970 would be enough of an improvement to get within minimum spec. The GTX 1000 series or the RX5000 series would have more availability and be great choices too.
@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire And the GTX 550 Ti is technically below the minimum specifications for AGMaker and Godot. The issue you are experiencing is likely related to VRAM; 550Ti only has 2GB. Is upgrading an option for you? Even an older used card that sells for cheap now would be a major upgrade.
@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire No, the UI is more Godot, which is a type of UI called stateless. It is definitely a point of contention as many people prefer a stateful (like normal RPG Maker and PGMMV) UI. Stateless are faster (less menu waiting), but more mentally complex to learn.
@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire Hmm, that shouldn't be happening! Can you report that (with more detail) on the AGMaker Discord or via support email? Would to get that fixed for you!
@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire Yes, our sample maker has focused a lot on the new bone animation system enabled by Godot, but you can make traditional sprite animations as well.
I love seeing people post stuff like this:

Bought a tool, got something working, and showing results in the same day. Don't be scared to share first steps: it's worth celebrating the start of a new journey!

@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire There are some UI differences due to being built on top of Godot, but all the functions are there and there's new stuff too: like the new bullet hell functions! So no, there's not really major performance issues like PGMMV!
@frawn_face@SirHoopsalotArt@GeeksGrimoire Just chiming in: the successor to Pixel Game Maker MV is built with Godot (currently 4.4, but update is coming). So if you want something that gives you the power of Godot, but still has lots of ease-of-use features like a full visual script system, maybe check it out!
Our sample maker is back with a tip on making enemies that patrol around a perimeter:

When the shape changes, make sure to update the enemy movement at an angle, not in a straight line: less likely to fall off!

Boosting this, because I still love seeing the combat effectiveness of a shield class getting boosted for defending and not just be "defend harder":

@DominionT41234 I'm not the main dev, nope, I'm just a translator & support person for the Japanese team. But I'm happy to answer if I can, or take your question to whoever can answer it! (I did a lot of development when I was younger though)
Hell ya! It's official now:

Metsugoku Smash is getting polished up for release as our next free sample game & project included with Action Game Maker! There's a complete play loop, so lots to study & learn from!

The developer of Shiki-Shiki! Haunted Dungeon (out now!) is working on his own side-scrolling shooter:

#PGMMV ended up being an engine for Mega Man-likes, and if #AGMaker gets used for a lot of shooters? All for it!

God, love to see a solid old-school chunky dot side scroller!

Does this mean we'll get Moai statues in the future?
