On Monday, June 24th, at 4 pm, the undersigned civil society organisations expressed deep concern over the recent incident involving John Frank Ngemi @oaksupreme , a prominent blockchain developer.

Reportedly, four armed individuals abducted him at the Beast Athletics offices located on Baringo Road, Kahawa Sukari. The alleged abduction was recorded on a CCTV camera and subsequently shared by @Mohkay

We are deeply concerned about the abduction of John Frank Githiaka, a valued member of our community, and we express our solidarity with him and his family during this challenging time. This incident underscores the growing threats innovators and pioneers face in the tech industry.

During this critical moment, we must fully support Kenya's courageous youth, who fearlessly oppose the Finance Bill through peaceful demonstrations. Their unwavering commitment and determination are truly inspiring.

It's essential to continue emphasising the significance of respecting their right to peaceful protest and freedom of expression, which are fundamental elements of a democratic society.

The Kenyan government must uphold both the country's laws and international human rights laws to ensure the complete protection of all citizens in Kenya.

We urgently demand the immediate and unconditional release of John Frank Ngemi. @oaksupreme

Additionally, we call upon the government to guarantee the safety of all citizens participating in the upcoming demonstrations. It is crucial to recognise that the nation's future is in the hands of its youth, and it is our responsibility to safeguard and defend their rights and liberties.
