For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
@hansmollman Open packet, put a square of greaseproof paper between each wrap and freeze. Each one will come out individually and defrost in a few minutes. Game changer 👌
@donaeldunready Southampton FC fans got very overexcited some years ago when they played Plymouth in the FA cup, and experienced "You dirty Northern bastards" being legitimately sung to them rather than by them. Revolutionary stuff...
I don’t know if anyone has seen the pernicious claim flying round social media in the last few days that only “17,000 people in the UK have died from #covid”
I’ve yet to see anyone debunk it so I thought I’d do a 🧵

Spent my afternoon and night celebrating the birthday of one of my colleagues who is also a brilliant friend. We talked work, families, and life. My oldest friends coming together with my work friends is a truly beautiful thing, and I am feeling like a lucky human tonight 🥰
@Bellyda38674922@PaulBrandITV@itvnews I'm an NHS nurse. In May 2020, my colleagues and I were working brutally long, stressful days in the same building. We were also sitting 2m apart to eat lunch in our staffroom, because if too many of us went off sick with COVID, our unit would be unsafe and patients would die.
A plea to all of my nursing pals - if you are a member of a union, then please check your emails on the vote on industrial action on nursing pay. Whatever choice you make..if less than 50% of us vote then the result means nothing. We can only change things if we stand together 👍
@GetReadyForWar@fraumannberlin@alexberesfordTV Your use of "implies all men are a risk" is actually unintentionally spot on. Yes, women walking home alone late at night absolutely assume all men are a risk. Not because we believe that every man is terrible, but because we have no idea which of these men might attack us.
A long planned and already postponed wedding was cancelled again this weekend, so my family and I did what we do best - party in a field. What a properly brilliant weekend with the best people!
Shout out to the innovators who didn’t create a shielding helpline because people would then call it. That’s the sort of forward thinking that sets the Tory lads apart.
