that's just what i said... and i won't die on the hill of "HTML is a programming language", but c'mon, it's more than just "markup", on the web, JavaScript is nothing without HTML that starts it... JavaScript without HTML on the web is like an operating system that cannot interact with the actual hardware.

your opinion is not wrong. though HTML is the language of the web, you use it to display stuff on the web, and JavaScript is the language of the scripts in the web. i would more than agree if we said that CSS is not a language, because it can technically just be embedded in both JS and HTML files without needing a separate CSS file, and you cannot embed HTML or JS inside of CSS files or CSS code, whereas CSS, JS, and HTML are all embeddable inside of both HTML and JS files.
