Friends and #Twitterstorians, at 1430 on 13 April, Patrick John Francis Xavier Mooney was delivered into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reported to Marine Duty Station Pearly Gates. Thank you for all your prayers. He went incredibly peacefully.
Friends and #Twitterstorians, Pat's wife Robin again. Pat has not woken up or improved. We will be withdrawing medical treatment, beginning tomorrow, to start the process to send him home to Jesus. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a peaceful passage. โค๏ธ
Friends and fellow #twitterstorians, Pat's wife Robin here. He had an incident Friday night after a scheduled medical treatment. He's in the ICU and has not woken up. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you!
@ChrisCardsFan Amen, we saw it each year when the "counterfeit Country Boys" rolled in to town to hunt and fish on our lands and waters...We called them Balti-morons
@Cobrahistorian Picard is a great series, and really enjoying it along with Discovery. DS9 was a fantastic series as well. I'm a ST/SW guy who married a ST(os) girl.
@TaubHistory Gents, the Marines were identified in t/ 6/6 report by Floyd Gibbons, released by t/ 2ID PAO (an Army officer) when Gibbons was reported mortally wounded in t/attack by 3/5 on BW. Casual newspaper articles stateside identified units irregardless of AEF policy, largely from family
@soulfoodscholar Do not agree...I love me some crust, but give me PEACHES with that gorgeous peach syrup (but bake up that leftover crust for nighttime munchies).
@FAB87F@militaryhistori It could be. The one I posted had undergone extensive restoration in 2006 at the Kharkiv Heavy Machinery tank factory, so it looks very promising.
I am wondering if there is any word about the fate of the surviving WWI tanks in Allen Douglas' list, in particular this lovely beastie in Kharkiv? I am doubtful that it survived the pummeling the city has taken. ๐

@Kateryna_Kruk Severe condolences for the loss of your hero-warrior! May his sacrifice for sacred Ukraine be celebrated by all. Slava Ukraini!!! ๐บ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฆ
@LMBD1418 Lucy, when you find that confidence, send some my way! Retired after a career as an Historian for a National Museum and I still suffer "imposter syndrome" almost daily. You are tops, and need only turn here to reinforce our opinion of your value to the field.
@RussellHellyer @HuppleC The criteria for awards was very...loose, and the reasoning seemingly contrary, during the years up to late 1942. Macarthur's award was supposedly for his inspiring leadership, but his reputation as "Dugout Doug" made the award a joke amongst those on Bataan and Corregidor.
@ZMatusheski Here's a couple I can recommend;
