@mikecosgrove45 He was a Sergeant in the army, but prior to that he trained as a pilot (with bomber command) and got his wings. Had an accident and transferred back to the army, but he still wore his wings. His journey was an interesting one!

Then and now…my grandfather in St Marks Square, Venice at the end of 1945 and me today 🥰 it’s been so amazing to walk the streets of the place he ended the war
