My heart is broken. I spoke with Staff Sgt. Hoover’s parents today. I told them Utah mourned with them. When I asked how we could help, his dad simply replied, “Just promise me Utah will never forget my son.”

We are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of @TxDPS State Trooper Chad Walker. Trooper Walker was ambushed by gunfire trying help out what he believed to be a stranded motorist on March 26th, 2021. We grieve alongside the entire State of Texas and Texas DPS.
