@MrElliottNelson @FeedMeCake_123 You speak on their behalf. You claim we didn’t pay them 🤦🏽♀️ And your (vicarious) offence is more important than their non-offence. Great ‘facts’ there. Sorry, not worth it.
@FeedMeCake_123 @MrElliottNelson They have a sense of humour. They helped make the show. Differences do not = offence. We organised for the edited episode to travel back to them to watch. Translated in their language. They’re still not offended.
@PearlOfIreland@netflix I certainly do. I am biracial also. I called myself ‘white’ on the show as that what the TRIBES called me being from the west. They’d call us both WHITE because we are not from their land. And your culture is not theirs. Again, stop speaking for the tribe!
@thando_mthonti And are you saying they don’t have a sense of humour? Maybe check the genre next time because, as a rom-com, the show is clearly not anthropological take on tribes.
@thando_mthonti Thanks for your @ and sorry you felt so offended but the Mbum were not. Might be hard for you to believe but they helped us make the show and we’re ‘in’ on every scene. So they knew everything we said at all times (thanks to several translators).
People are worried about paying their rent and what’s going to happen to their family.
They shouldn’t be worried about whether a government website is even going to work.
We’ve got to do better than this. https://t.co/geHquZzSFC
@Johnwea16353006 Hi there! No, thank YOU for taking the time to watch. We really appreciate it. Hope you’re staying safe while all is a little crazy in the world right now. Thanks again and hang in there. xx
In this incredible interview we discuss if @PJMadam and Tim are still together, how the show was created, and their incredible mission and impact for their futures.
Watch the show extreme engagement now streaming on netflix!

@jbizelle @JayStovee Not true. Of all the comments I get, this is the sick minority. I ate their food for a month. How would you react eating rat etc the FIRST time? They were NOT offended. Pls stop speaking on behalf of tribes u’ve never met & don’t know, (that’s white privilege at its best).
@JayStovee What, you mean to FAKE my involvement & reaction in their rituals? Sorry, like I said, I’m not racist & honour all the people we lived with. I chose to show the truth which they RESPECTED & EXPECTED of me. See what you want to see.
@JayStovee And sorry u’re so offended. But not one person we filmed / lived with ever was,
given we had so many translators & interpreters with us. So whose “offence” is more important here: Yours? Or the tribes? I know who I believe. Have you met them? So don’t rob them of their AGENCY.
@JayStovee Not too hard at all. But we are forever saddened at how quickly people judge without ANY knowledge / facts / truth / or Ed before them. And negative attitude? For a whole 2 years? You know these things are edited, right?
@JayStovee So then stick to not saying it. It’s a flawed argument when there’s REAL racism and xenophobia in the world and people battle it, along with REAL prejudices, everyday. Not from something you watch and have no idea about.
@JayStovee Couldn’t care less if you don’t like the show - but don’t call me racist or xenophobic when you know nothing about me / the tribe / how we film / our relationship with them / how they knew everything we said at all times.
@JayStovee Thanks for ur @. I’m not white and never have been. I called myself “white” as that’s what the TRIBE CALLED ME making no distinction with anyone from the WEST. Out of respect, I used THEIR definition. Hard to live with tribes for so long & make a show when offending them?
