@DanikaXIX@thatstarwarsgrl I think they want her to look more natural in a lot of roles just so she's more relatable, maybe?
If she's playing the role of a relatively normal modern person I buy her more (I'm thinking Euphoria) than I do in more out-there character roles like Chani.
@Bosehill1@bonchieredstate I've encountered a few too many people in my life who seem to think that these chatbots are some sort of sentient machines with opinions and thoughts.
@Anne_L_Beeds@TheEbonyMaw I'm not arguing elementary school kids should be reading that as part of their curriculum or should have it in their school's library.
I am now the most banned author in the United States--87 books. May I suggest you pick up one of them and see what all the pissing & moaning is about? Self-righteous book banners don't always get to have their way. This is still America, dammit.
@gurcanmeister@TheEbonyMaw I know it's not Stephen King novels. But if a fifth grade teacher did assign it, and parents complained enough to get it removed from the curriculum, would that make it to the banned books list?
@TheEbonyMaw Someone replied to me saying using the terms "restricted" or "limited" would be more appropriate terms. I think I agree that those make more sense when looking at the bigger picture.
@gurcanmeister@TheEbonyMaw Maybe I'm missing something but don't school curriculums usually have to be approved anyway?
Like I can't imagine a fifth grade teacher being able to assign something popular like Stephen King's It, or something much more difficult like The Gulag Archipelago.
@DavidListe47409@TheEbonyMaw It's not just their library, it's also that teachers can't use them to teach a class. But K-12 has always had to have books approved for curriculums anyway.
@TheEbonyMaw They're stretching the definition to make themselves feel defiant. That's literally it. It's not about the kids, it's about making themselves feel like they're part of a resistance movement.
@TheEbonyMaw TMost of the little bookstores in my area have "banned books" sections. Most of the "banned" books I've looked through are the same uber-progressive sexual, racial stuff aimed at kids.
Occasionally you might find To Kill a Mocking Bird in there bc it was "banned" somehwere
