Let us be clear about why India started blending ethanol, because the reason has been forgotten.
India buys most of its crude oil from other countries. That costs a very large amount of foreign money every year, and it leaves us exposed whenever there is a war or a sanction somewhere in the world.
Ethanol is made here, from crops grown here, by farmers here. Every litre of ethanol is a litre of petrol we did not have to buy from abroad.
The purpose was energy security. It was never a promise of cheaper sugar or cheaper petrol.

Rahul totally surprised me nowadays. I always thought him as prevailaged prince who is just in politics because it's his family work. But last few months he has totally changed my opinion about him.
