@TolentinoTeach After Brexit we told the kids we had to go back to the imperial measurement system.
We made a load of massive, as confusing as possible, diagrams to link all the bizarrely named units together and had a fun day confusing every class we taught.
(Big fan of imperial measures)
@fesshole Terry and June is in that small set of “peak tv” shows. Watched the whole lot for the umpteenth time a few weeks ago.
Gentle giggly comedy. Perfect.
@80s90sfootball D is for David Narey. Worldy for Scotland against Brazil to put them 1-0 up in 1982 (although I think they lost eventually 4-1 or maybe 3-1)
@JamesThrot False.
After every single piece of legislation the billionaires (and indeed all taxpayers) are still subsidising those on benefits. (Albeit the subsidy might very occasionally drop a bit).
That’s the point. I (a taxpayer) am subsiding those on benefits every single day.
@anon_opin If you’re that bothered don’t buy their product. If you do want it then pay the price they’ve offered it at. What they do with their money is none of your business.
@outlawtheDNC@omgsidewalks If my product is “worth” $100 to the buyer in terms of enhancing their life and I sold them it for $1 I’ve done them a huge favour. So my $8bn collected at $1 each from everyone has made everyone richer and me a lot richer. Nobody exploited.
@BladeoftheS Yeah in the late 70s Britain was an economic powerhouse and we were all loaded.
Except we weren’t. We were a basket case going cap in hand to the IMF for a bailout.
