A couple in Pune got married. Both were working professionals.

Within just 6 months, the marriage broke down and divorce proceedings began.

The husband's in-hand salary was ₹2.79 lakh per month. The wife's in-hand salary was ₹1.41 lakh per month. The husband was also financially supporting his parents.

The wife argued that she was entitled to maintain the same standard of living she enjoyed during the marriage. The court reportedly directed the husband to pay ₹1.35 lakh per month as maintenance.

The result?

The wife's monthly income reportedly rises to around ₹2.76 lakh.

The husband's monthly income reportedly falls to around ₹1.44 lakh before accounting for his own expenses, parental responsibilities, and taxes.

And here's the part many men find difficult to understand:

The husband cannot claim a tax deduction on the maintenance he pays because maintenance is generally treated as a personal expense. In effect, he may continue paying income tax on money that he no longer gets to keep.

Six months of marriage.

Years of financial consequences.

Cases like this are exactly why many men are asking whether India's maintenance framework still reflects modern realities where both spouses are educated, employed, and financially independent.

Equality cannot mean equal rights but unequal obligations.

Although the court found no proof of domestic violence, cruelty, or economic abuse against the husband, it held that these findings did not end his responsibility towards his minor child.

Rejecting the husband's claim of unemployment, the Delhi Court observed that an able-bodied father cannot avoid child maintenance merely by citing joblessness.

The court also rejected the argument that the wife was not entitled to relief simply because she was educated, noting that the ability to earn and actual earnings are different concepts.

Accordingly, the court directed the husband to pay ₹6,000 per month as maintenance for his minor son.

आज आत्मनिर्भर बनी महिला को रोता हुआ देखता हूं सारे दावे..वादे..सर्फ छलावा लगते हैं..!

A couple in Pune got married, and both of them were working.

Within 6 months of the marriage, they had serious issues and filed for divorce.

Husband's in-hand salary is ₹2,79,499 per month.

Wife's in-hand salary is ₹1,41,436 per month.

Husband also has to support his parents financially.

Wife argued that she has the right to maintain a lifestyle similar to the one she enjoyed during the marriage. The court ordered the husband to pay her ₹1,35,000 per month as maintenance.

Now, wife's total monthly income will increase to ₹2,76,436.

After paying maintenance, the husband's remaining monthly income will be ₹1,44,499. He cannot claim any tax deduction for the maintenance he pays.

Under income tax rules, maintenance is considered a personal expense, not a deductible expense. This means he must still pay income tax on his full salary, including the ₹1,35,000 that goes to his wife.

Wife may also have to pay income tax on the maintenance amount if it is treated as taxable income under the applicable tax laws.

Shilpa Shinde didn't just make a false allegation. She is still defending it.

Instead, video after video, she keeps defending the indefensible. The most shocking part isn't even the false allegation anymore—it's the complete lack of accountability afterward.

When someone can casually say "jo ukhadna hai ukhad lo" after admitting to making a false allegation, it sends a dangerous message. A false allegation is not a PR mistake. It can destroy careers, reputations, families, and the lives of innocent men.

The more she speaks, the more she proves why law misuse remains a serious issue. There is still no remorse, no guilt, and no real acknowledgment of the damage caused.

And that's the problem.

Wrong is wrong. A crime remains a crime, no matter how many explanations come later.

If we want justice, then accountability cannot depend on gender. Justice for men begins when society stops treating false allegations as harmless and starts recognizing the devastation they leave behind.

Lokesh, a train driver from Madhya Pradesh, was allegedly beaten repeatedly by his wife. He approached the police. He sought help from neighbours. Like countless men, he was met with disbelief, ridicule, and silence.

No one wanted to see a man as a victim.

Forced to prove his own suffering, Lokesh secretly recorded the assaults. The video reportedly shows his wife physically attacking him while family members stood by and watched without intervention.

The allegations are disturbing. Lokesh claims he was being pressured to surrender his entire salary, while his complaints were ignored until video evidence surfaced.

Imagine the outrage if the genders were reversed.

A man should not need CCTV-style evidence of his own abuse before society accepts that violence is violence.

Domestic violence does not become less serious because the victim is male. The real injustice is that many abused men are first mocked, then ignored, and only believed when they bring proof that would never be demanded from others.

Men can be victims too. The law must protect victims, not stereotypes.
