We're looking for someone to work on packaging with SmartOS using pkgsrc.
Love compilers and problem solving? Familiar with pkgsrc?

For the pkgsrc 21.4.0 LTS release I would like to upgrade the SmartOS build platform image, so that we can take advantage of recent improvements in illumos.
More details here: https://t.co/Y2NWWHe6WG
Let me know if you're stuck running an older illumos release for any reason.
I've fixed the pkgsrc issue on macOS Monterey, and package sets are now available with the fix.
Unfortunately it's a chicken-and-egg scenario, so please follow the instructions I sent to tech-pkg to get past the breakage:

Let me know if it still fails!
Delighted to announce the first release of our binary package set for Apple Silicon!
Head to https://t.co/9XWsiX6Y6Y and choose the "Big Sur (M1)" option. Currently over 16,000 packages available with more to come.
The x86 sets are also up-to-date now after the hardware move.
First full macOS/arm64 pkgsrc bulk build is done!

Some easy low-hanging fruit, some of which has already been fixed. Hoping to have binaries shipped in the next few days.
Happy macOS Big Sur release day.
Want 20,000 binary packages for it? Head over to https://t.co/9XWsiX6Y6Y and click on the "Big Sur" tab.
Upgrading to Big Sur and have an existing Mojave pkgsrc set installed? Unpack https://t.co/v0Q3or3QyR and "pkgin upgrade" to switch over.
My macOS package repository is now back online.
As before, you MUST run "pkg_add mksh" before "pkgin upgrade" if you have an existing install.
For new users, there is now an updated bootstrap kit available, which will Just Work.

I've released pkgin 20.7.0 and updated pkgsrc. As always, let me know ASAP if you run into problems.
This release fixes the install ordering problem, a contributing factor to the macOS binary package repository being on hold (remember to "pkg_add mksh"!)

Oh the fun to be had deciphering "ulimit -m" vs "ulimit -v" on macOS: https://t.co/8TGBCAfKjb
With this in place, mksh as the pkgsrc bootstrap shell is looking pretty good so far.
OK - started to do some new work on the UBports Ubuntu Pinephone today - the disk layout is a little weird to get used to. Installed build-essential and nfs-common - mounted a fresh #pkgsrc over Wireless network and bootstrapped pkgsrc 2020Q1 - all went fine
