Muslims have a plan to make America a Muslim nation.
Marxists have a plan to make America a Marxist nation.
Secular Progressives have a plan to make America a Secular Progressive nation.
… but Christians seem to always have a plan to keep Christianity from further influencing our nation by discipling people into either:
1) Political apathy (“God is sovereign, back off”, “we don’t get political, just do evangelism”)
2) Political ambiguity (“Jesus isn’t a Republican or Democrat, neither Right nor Left” = primary application of gospel to culture)
If continued, this will have very predictable (and disastrous) results in coming years, and a few conversations with pastors in deep blue cities / states trying to build churches, pastor people, and raise Christian families will help you realize it.
“Every high civilization decays by forgetting obvious things.” (Chesterton)
Such as:
-God is our Father, non non-binary.
-It's an abomination to allow men to go into girls' bathrooms.
-Saying "biological" before someone's sex is stupid, redundant, and part of the problem.
-Sticking scissors into a womb to dismember a baby is an unconscionable evil.
-Politicians who passionately support the right to the above practice great wickednesss, and no consistent Christian can support them.
-Socialism is societal suicide. Every time.
-It really is Christ or chaos.
-The reason the US Navy was formed was to combat Mohammedan pirates who were seizing our ships, and choking our economy. They did so explicitly under orders of the Quran and said they'd continue to, until all were converted or enslaved. Ergo, supporting them to lead our country is silly. What else?
I've said from the beginning that the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed are not enough. They are good and I affirm them. However, they were written in response to and/or under pressure by the heresies of their day, and spoke to specific doctrines that were under fire.
For example, neither creed mentions anything about sexuality, yet Scripture is clear that the sexually immoral will not inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6:9) So, can someone be considered an orthodox Christian yet celebrate fornication? I say no.
The question of the essentials is much more complicated than simply asking, "Do you affirm the creeds?"
.@TrevinWax shares a lesson from Harry Truman’s weakness: “We’ve normalized a lack of impulse control among ourselves and our leaders… as [a] sign of authenticity. We don’t expect decency from our leaders because we don’t delight in decency ourselves.”

They called Jesus Lord.
They prophesied in his name.
They cast out demons in his name.
They did many mighty works in his name.
Then they heard the terrifying words:
“Depart from me; I never knew you.” Matthew 7:23
Because they built their house on the sand of disobedience (Matthew 7:26–27).

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.
“An overseer (elder, pastor) must hold firm to the trustworthy word, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.” Titus 1:9
What to do with word and doctrine:
Hold it firmly.
Teach it clearly.
Rebuke the opposers.
