I came across a poem on Zubeen by Dr Partha Sarathi Mahanta, on social media.
It is rare when a man in uniform, burdened with the weight of law and order, lets his pen reveal the depth of his heart. Dr Mahanta, Inspector General of Police, Assam, has written a moving poem for Zubeen, not as an officer, but as an Assamese who feels the same ache as the rest of us. His words remind us that Zubeen was never just an artist, he was the melody that lived in our collective heart.
I have rendered the poem in English because such beautiful words about a beautiful person need to be shared beyond the Assamese people.
