Sky3D v2.1 has been released. This is our first official release package. Atmospheric day/night cycle, time manager, environmental lighting system, sun, moon, clouds, fog.
@Acerola_t Oh, screenshot did not show what they replying to so not much context. Player scores on Steam are also good , not just critics. From quick look it seems like a pretty boring VN-like/narrative game with just a few mini-games though, so I'll pass. Too many games, too little time.
@EvilReFlex@DiscipleMmd@passivestar_ See your problem is, this is not Godot. You can not just assume the same thing you see happen in Blender applies in game engines. You need shadows enabled for that light to not appear behind the pillar in Godot. You need shadows on for a light texture/projector to work in Godot.
@OtsoaVisuals There is CUDA support. On Linux you use Vulkun. DirectX is a Windows only thing but supported via Wine/Proton with DXVK for example for Windows apps and games that needs it.
@FR3NKD@cezeren_ Handling the drivers is something I liked about the gaming distros like Bazzite, based on Fedora. There are docs though on how to change the nVidia drivers and I got CUDA to work too. Although my manual Affinity Studio setup still don't see it. I Have to use the older appimage.
@FR3NKD Damn, that is some bad luck you had. My Fedora install went pretty much same as when I install Windows on a new build. Only thing I think some might struggle with is when there is an existing OS and you want to install on a different drive/partition for dual boot.
@FR3NKD So it comes down to having more manufacturers having it as a installed option on laptops/pre-builds? Cause if you are going to install Windows manually then the same issue exist.
@turbofish_pk@Jonathan_Blow His post is about uptime. You do not need that on a dev machine which is probably turned off at the end of the work day anyway. Apps on Windows around game development is also still a bit better than on Linux but it really depends on your needs there.
We're pushing hard to get a new Out of the Ashes demo up on Steam in time for the Medieval Festival Apr 20th.
After that I'll have some free time to have Terrain3D officially support Godot 4.6, though it works, and finalize a maintenance release and v1.1. ๐งต
