It is a lovely day for a walk in the garden to enjoy the autumn colour. Garden entry £5.00 Sensible footwear required as it is slippery. The garden and plant centre are open 10am-4pm daily.

A very seldom seen White Admiral butterfly, in the garden, on Metasequoia g. ‘Gold Rush’.The garden is brimming with wildlife at the moment, lots of butterflies, Grass snakes, Stag beetles etc. and two reported sightings, of Purple Emperor butterflies in the arboretum.

Looking great on the plant centre is some of our homegrown herbaceous perennials.
Hemerocallis 'Tequila and Lime', Hemerocallis 'Primal Scream', Astilbe Lovely Day and Achillea millefolium 'Peggy Sue'.

The colours of the Japanese maples (Acer palmatum) as they are coming
into leaf on the plant centre are stunning. We have several different
varieties in 3L - 30L pots. They will grow best in a shady spot,
sheltered from cold winds. Call 01206 299224 for enquiries

Create year round structure in the garden by using topiary evergreens.
Standard bay trees look great in the kitchen garden adding some height
and form, or plant a pair in pots either side of a door for a statement.

Prunus 'The Bride' looking lovely with its pure white single flowers that have a red blush in the centre. This small deciduous tree is tolerant of most soil types, and will grow in a sheltered or exposed position.

The garden will be open from Saturday but due to the wet winter the paths are still very slippery, but it is a lovely place to stroll in the open air and disease free. The Magnolias and Camellias are looking exceptional, and a few Rhododendrons are starting to come flower.
