Hello @foodgov
In 2002 you refused to recommend the addition of folic acid to bread because you were worried about the impact on people, especially the elderly, who have undiagnosed Vitamin B12 deficiency.
What has changed since 2002?
Folic acid, or your independence?
Are you, like the MHRA, now an industry enabler, not a consumer watchdog?
As you know, it's very hard to avoid folic acid in practice.
Eating wholemeal bread instead of white bread isn't enough because lots of bought wholemeal bread contains some white flour.
Making your own white bread at home isn't enough, because even organic white flour contains folic acid. You have to find a niche smallscale mill which sells unfortified flour, and pay a premium.
Avoiding white bread entirely isn't enough because white flour is in most baked goods - cakes, biscuits, crackers, wraps, muffins, waffles.
Avoiding all of those isn't enough either because white flour is in a lot of other things: sausages, marmite, breaded chicken, battered fish, lots of foods containing a sauce.
You can, of course, cook everything at home from scratch and do your best to avoid adding white flour to anything. No sauces, no pancakes, no home baking. Or just use wholemeal flour for everything (assuming it doesn't contain added white flour, as some does). Good luck making a tasty sponge cake with wholemeal flour!
But even if you cook everything at home from scratch and avoid white flour - you go to work and at lunchtime you need a quick lunch. A meal deal, perhaps. Practically every sandwich or wrap on offer contains folic acid. Go to visit your friends and they make you lunch or dinner. To avoid folic acid you're going to have to give them a very long list of things you can't eat. Or make food at home and take it with you everywhere you go.
Now try adding all of these extra tasks to your day if you are a working parent with school age kids (who aren't as easy to persuade to avoid processed food as you). Or if you are one of the groups who are at acknowledged risk from folic acid supplementation - perhaps you have or havd had cancer. Your life is already very hard. Do you need government adding all of these extra tasks to your already difficult day?
Yes, it's theoretically possible to avoid folic acid, in the same way as the government didn't mandate having a COVID vaccination. It just made life incredibly difficult for people to live a normal life without it.
This morning they are pushing “Benedict’s Law”
It is a set of statutory reforms in England that establishes a consistent, mandatory national framework for managing life-threatening allergies in schools.
Named after five-year-old Benedict Blythe—who tragically died from anaphylaxis at school in 2021 after being exposed to a known allergen—the law was advanced via the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 to eliminate inconsistent, school-by-school approaches to allergy safety.
Whilst the death of any child is incredibly sad, this is a single death due to anaphylaxis .
Yet we have seen hundreds of deaths in children from vaccines across the country and I suspect it is the tip of the iceberg but vaccines are simply too good an earner for MPs to do anything at all about it .
Do not think for one moment that the government gives a single fuck about your child .
Not one - if they did the whole vaccine schedule would be ended - along with SIDS, autism and a plethora of other elements that include asthma that are generated by these vaccines.
They all know, all of them know.
@WArtistically@GwynMT You get shingles if your immune system is struggling. After that jab it'll definitely be struggling now. Look after self by taking NAC and vitC along with good diet
We sent our reanalysis of Moderna’s mRNA flu shot data directly to RFK Jr.
I can now confirm he RECEIVED it and is taking it SERIOUSLY.
According to the FDA’s own data used for approval, we found it’s a form of HUMAN SACRIFICE to administer mFLUSIVA.
To theoretically "prevent" ONE flu hospitalization:
2 people must suffer unexplained deaths
278 people must suffer a disabling Grade 3 reaction
3,798 people must suffer an adverse event
The FDA’s approval of mFLUSIVA must be IMMEDIATELY REVERSED.
@latimeralder Well the intervention in west of Scotland has had opposite effect. Sadly. It's been colder and wetter this summer than ever. Only been 3 weeks of nice sunshine. Heating been on more this year than ever in summer.
@DebiEvansMatron To end all capture, all corruption. To see end of all abuse and war. See end of all pollution and poisoning of people, animals, land and seas.
@goddek You forgot one of the most important one. Those suffered from regular respiratory illness such as copd and were regulars to attend hospital for steroids/o2 were left untreated. Drowning in secretions with DNRs. It's scandal never discussed.
