@JoelJutgeDredd@Jfermol1974@tanguy_scigala Que sois unos racistas.

🇪🇸 Spain's Joel Merkler won his 4th Top 14 winners medal, 3rd time playing in the final, and 1st time from the starting XV. That is in addition to his Champions Cup winners medal. At age just 24 so not yet in his prime for a tighthead prop but he is already the most decorated homegrown Spanish player of all time at the highest level, has now just grown into a first choice starting option for the best club in France. Hopefully he can push on and hold this position for more seasons to come.
🇪🇸 Spain women 7s just confirmed their place in the top 8 and return to the main circuit next season. The men's 7s also have maintained their position in top 8. Whilst both men & women's sides qualified for 15s RWC. Plus Spain is also qualified for the U20 World Championship.
This mean Spain is one of only five nations in the sport alongside 🇳🇿 New Zealand, 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇫🇷 France, & 🇫🇯 Fiji currently confirmed participants in every World Rugby organised tournament.
Yet despite Spain being one of the most active Unions in the sport and now seen at all WR events (some of which they are bidding to host) they are rewarded with 0 votes from World Rugby on the council. They are allowed no voice whatsoever and are treated the same as the likes of barely active micro-Unions like Vanuatu or Greece.
The status quo WR voting system is completely unfair and unreasonably biased towards Tier 1 and does not lead to a system that favours policies that represent the global game adequately.
There is no better example of this than Spain. Even if they were given just 1 vote that would be too little when all Tier 1 Unions get 3, but for a nation active in every World Rugby event to have 0 votes remains an insult to Spanish rugby and their efforts, and also an insult to fairness, and an insult to the global game generally.
At the last WR election one candidate Abdel Benazzi pledged to change this voting system but sadly lost to Brett Robinson disgracefully defended it (with the obvious reason for that being a biased system helped him win).
That the sport is stuck with a voting system so incredibly biased towards Tier 1 is a key reason why the sport has pursued misguided policies over this decade with regards to global growth and has suffered a period of contraction. It is the number one issue that any nation stuck outside Tier 1, or anyone who cares about the global game, must lobby to change.
FR-UK Rugby YouTube channel just announced they have rights to show the Top 14 final next month!
They do a great job broadcasting Pro D2 with English commentary and exude real enthusiasm for the games. So really pleased for them to get the rights for such a big match.
While Bordeaux's backline gets the media hype, the real story of their Investec Champions Cup title defense is in the tournament stats. This wasn't just a flashy team; they put up historically dominant numbers in every single department.🧵
