@Scott_Wiener 50% of US and Bay Area trips are shorter than 3 miles (20-min bike ride). Almost 3/4 of those trips are driven. 60% of ppl are interested in biking but too concerned about safety to do so. Protected bike facilities = safe, equitable, healthy, green and FUN!

What is the impact of WFH on productivity?
Hard to measure, so try US macro data:
1) WFH days rose 5-fold after 2020
2) Productivity growth rose 10% after 2020
Not conclusive - many many other things happened - but this at least suggests WFH is not some big productivity killer.
New plan for Fifth Avenue unveiled: given there are already far more pedestrians than cars, the space is being ‘right-sized.’ Wide sidewalks! A safe, separated cycle track! Dedicated bus lanes! And then a little leftover space for cars. Putting cars in their place, finally.

Engineer opposed to bollards along the sidewalks because automobiles might get damaged.
The only surprise is that this honestly and widely held belief among professional engineers was spoken publicly. It's usually just subtext.

That doesn't include the 2,000 people who rode our special sports or Short Hop services.
We averaged about 8,700 pax/weekend in Apr 2019. 💅
