Did you know? Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on Earth. Some species grow up to 35 inches PER DAY.
That's almost 1.5 inches per hour. You could literally watch it grow.
Nature is wild.

If you could only keep 3 houseplants for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Mine:
1. Monstera Deliciosa - the showstopper
2. Pothos - the workhorse
3. Snake Plant - the survivor
Drop your top 3 below.

The transformation is real.
My Monstera went from 3 sad leaves to an absolute unit in 8 months. The secret? A moss pole.
Monsteras are climbers in the wild. Give them something to grab onto and watch the leaves double in size. It's not magic - it's how they're built.

Switched all my plants from plastic to terracotta last year.
The difference was immediate.
Terracotta is porous β moisture evaporates through the clay, roots get air, soil dries out properly between waterings.
If you're an overwaterer (most of us are), this single swap will save your plants.

Last resort for a stem-only survivor:
If you have even ONE healthy stem with nodes, you can propagate a new plant.
Cut below a node, put in water. In 2-3 weeks you'll have roots.
The plant isn't dead. It's becoming two plants.

If the plant is wilting despite moist soil:
This is root rot or compacted soil preventing drainage.
Unpot immediately. Check roots. If they're rotted β see step 2.
If roots look fine but soil is dense, repot in fresh airy mix.
This moisture meter completely changed how I water my plants. No more guessing, no more root rot.
I stick it in the soil, get an instant reading, and know exactly when to water. Saved at least 5 plants this year.
Highly recommend for beginners: [AFFILIATE LINK]

Reminder that the plant hobby doesn't have to be expensive.
Pothos cuttings: free from a friend.
Terracotta pots: $2 each.
Soil: $8 a bag.
You can build a thriving plant collection for under $30.
The algorithm wants you to think otherwise. #PlantCoded
The 3 things that actually made me a better plant parent:
1. Moisture meter β eliminates all guessing
2. Terracotta pots β roots breathe, soil dries properly
3. Cactus mix for succulents β regular soil kills them slowly
All under $15 on Amazon: https://t.co/Yq7s4i24eZ
Simple gear. Huge difference.
What's a plant you were scared to buy but ended up loving?
I was terrified of my first Monstera. Now I have four. They're basically the golden retrievers of the plant world - big, happy, and impossible not to love.

The #1 thing that made me a better plant parent wasn't a rare plant or a fancy pot.
It was a $10 soil moisture meter.
Stick the probe in the soil:
β Needle in the red = water now
β Needle in the green/blue = walk away
I stopped killing plants the week I started using one. No more guessing.

Rule 5: Most plants need rest.
In fall and winter, reduce watering and stop fertilizing entirely.
Your plant is not dying β it's dormant. It will explode with growth when spring arrives.
Fighting nature by fertilizing in winter can actually harm your plants.

Rule 4: The pot size matters more than you think.
Bigger is NOT better. Oversized pots hold too much soil, which holds too much moisture, which causes root rot.
Go 1-2 inches larger than the current pot. That's it.
