“Girl, 9, accused of being trans at Kelowna track meet”
This is where anti-trans hate leads. It is an attack on all forms of gender non-conformity, ending in the re-imposition of regressive gender norms and threatening progress on women’s rights. https://t.co/cF3wpau0nJ
28% of survey respondents think "homelessness" is a sufficient reason to pursue MAID. Homelessness has medical outcomes, but it is not a medical condition; it's a condition created by societies that withhold vital resources. People need care, not death. https://t.co/0YqdQ9tpd0
Earlier today we emailed @cupe4600 members what we know about our pay. I have new info: the wage claw back is retaliatory and has *nothing* to do with wrapping up term or the good of students. An email inadvertently sent to members from (maybe) @CU_Provost follows /1
Not @Carleton_U asking for the rest of their tuition despite refusing to negotiate in good faith with Unit 1 @cupe4600. They are literally trying to starve us out.
@liampmooney marking. Many TAs also work multiple jobs (in the summer and during school) in order to afford to live which impacts our mental and physical health as well as our ability to complete our own studies. #fairwagesnow 2/2
@liampmooney The idea of a maximum of “260 hours per year” is false. TAs are some of the hardest working people I know and many TAs end up going over their hours because the work needs to get done. Hours are also not evenly divided so some weeks we may have to do much more work to finish 1/2
@em_kells21@cupe4600 TAs and CIs hate that students’ education is being jeopardized. All TAs and a lot of CIs are students too so we feel the pain. Carleton has had so many opportunities to pay us fair wages and adjust student-TA ratios. The strike could’ve been avoided if Carleton wasn’t so greedy
Her name is Linda Beardy. She was a mom. Mourning for her, her family, but especially for her children. We must wrap our arms around them. Canada must do better. No more stolen sisters.
Reading emails from both @cupe4600 and @Carleton_U it is so very clear that the university is twisting the narrative to try and turn students against their TAs and CIs. I’m honestly so disappointed in how Carleton is handling this strike
