@FoxsFoxes My niece is starting a foreign language mission next week. She bore her testimony in the language she’ll be speaking…BEFORE starting her mission. I don’t know all she said, but knowing that she’s already been working so hard to learn the language was profound for me.
@james_xond 25…if you count getting added to the condo when I married my husband. A couple years later we bought our first home together, shortly before the housing crisis of 2008.
@darthcaro …but when they were younger, my parents did let the leaders know since we’d be there for 2-3 weeks. The ward knows my parents and sister (and her family) well enough to know who my kids ‘belong’ to.
@darthcaro I’m in Nursery and while I do print off an extra coloring page every week, just in case, I definitely wouldn’t be prepared for a large influx of visitors. The only time we stay for the second hour is when we’re visiting my parents’ and sisters’ ward. My kids are older now…
@FiredUpCoug I only ask my husband to help plant the trees…I’ll do all of the shrubs and flowers myself to make sure they’re done the way I want them to be done. I even do the drips!
@ineedanothernap Every mom should get whatever they want for Mother’s Day. If that means celebrating the grandmas on another day, so be it. As a mom still ‘in the trenches’ I don’t want to be hosting anyone today.
@wndyW1LL0w The most I’ll do when at a park with my kids is listen to an audiobook. I only use one earbud so I can still hear what’s going on around me. The two that still want to go to the park are 9 and 12…but they still want me to be ‘present.’
@RyanQualtrics Please find someone who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford the experience. My kids have attended several sporting events due to their dad’s position at work. I love that they have these opportunities that I never had (but would have loved) growing up.
@NinaPanickssery@Yahskapar My parents live 2000 miles away, closer to the majority of their grandkids. My in-laws that we live close to have 19 grandkids within a half hour of them. In other words, an impossible scenario for child care.
@NancyH_60 As long as you aren’t g things difficult for their teachers, vacat away! Parents who want two weeks work of schoolwork before they leave don’t realize the extra work they’re asking for.
