My commentary on the closure of @VectorBase. Join me in rallying for its sustainable continuation. Comment, repost, and circulate. Let’s ensure this vital resource remains accessible for our global #VectorBiology research community.
Happy #WorldMalariaDay from @uniklinik_hd & @UniHeidelberg. Join us on Saturday where we will be hosting a stand on Hauptstaße, HD - here you can learn about malaria and the challenges we face trying to combat the disease. Bring all friends and family! Supported by @DZIF_

Preprint of a really fun collaboration with @Sanjay_C_Nagi integrating RNAseq and WGS from An. gambiae and An. funestus looking at drivers of pyrethroid resistance. Sanj also put together a nice python package to access this data: https://t.co/3Pf5UxSe0H
We are #recruiting a PhD student! If you always wanted to use state-of-the-art molecular/cellular #biology and genetic engineering to find find out how #Plasmodium male gametes are made, or just want to take pretty pictures like the ones below, get in touch with me!

Applications are open at https://t.co/w8YNKaqCVk for the 2024 Biology of Parasitism course @MBLBoP@MBLScience with new deadline: January 3rd !!
Come join us for an amazing summer of learning and camaraderie, exciting lectures, lab practicals and fun excursions.
With participation of scientists from #UKHD „#Malaria in the Medici era“ was created. Under the direction of the anthropologist Albert Zink, mummified tissue from the Medici family was examined. They identified "Plasmodium falciparum" in the red blood cells.https://t.co/Qct89dIX3i
Very happy to have been awarded the Lautenschläger prize for young scientists. The money will contribute towards @JCarlosLol2 PhD project looking at insecticide use and malaria transmission in Central America 👏
Proteins need to breathe: Stabilising conformations in a #malaria#parasite surface protein stops #Plasmodium#sporozoite migration and blocks transmission. Our latest collaboration with @TimSpringerLab out @emboreports. 'Fixing' TRAP 'kills' the parasite. https://t.co/gI613amWun
It’s #TimeToDeliverZeroMalaria🚫
Come join us to celebrate #WorldMalariaDay2023🦟🌎🌍🌏
You will hear about operative research efforts towards malaria elimination in endemic countries🔬

As promised the job advert for a post-doc position starting this summer (initially 3 years with possibility of 5). If you're interested please contact me ASAP with your CV and a cover letter. Experience in bioinformatics and molecular biology needed. Please RT
I'm soon going to be advertising for an initial 3-year post doc position on an ERC funded grant based in Heidelberg. The position will involve characterising the response to insecticides and Plasmodim infection and the impact of resistance on parasite development in Anopheles 1/2
Postdoc position available in our lab in collaboration with @R0bMoon in London on a @wellcometrust project investigating #Plasmodium knowlesi invasion. All new for us and super exciting. Advanced skills in microscopy and a keen interest in biophysics are a must.
