Counted & collected: 126 pieces of litter on Palewell Common.
I’m taking part in a 6 month research project into the effects of Covid-19 on plastic pollution in the UK. Get updates here >> https://t.co/vZoboiP5ZW

Discarded plastic in the Thames emits harmful greenhouse gases, and is a danger to wildlife. Our #CleaningtheThames website makes it easy to organise clean-ups on the foreshore, and record any litter you pick up #LCAW2021
Ever wondered if the Covid-19 Pandemic has had an effect on Plastic Pollution? We are collecting data all over the UK to start finding out.

Help us keep the Thames clean. We remove over 200 tonnes of rubbish from the river every year. Our #CleaningtheThames website allows you to record the litter you collect, no matter the amount https://t.co/csRxQ4YOK5
Not just at Palewell Common, all along the Brook is bad, esp at the A3 slip road onto Coombe Lane which has become a rubbish dump/fly tip all that trash is polluting Beverley Brook too
You know what ends up in the Thames? Anything you discard on Palewell Common, including coffee cups, drinks bottles and snack wrappers. The wind will blow it into Beverley Brook and then it can travel all the way to the open sea. Please take your litter home!
While air quality has improved over lockdown, environmental problems such as littering are on the rise. Here's a feature piece on the situation in London and Kent

Not my first post about this topic, we can do better than this #Twickenham 😕. Take your rubbish home with you if the bins in @LBRUT#parks are full, there's signs on the bin that say this and ways to report full bins, which can also be done via this link https://t.co/fbqSXcBeBx
This amazing footage was taken by Nick Williams, at Richmond station in London on Christmas Eve. Urban foxes don’t seem to mind being close to humans, unlike their country cousins. Please remember that foxes are still wild animals and should be treated as such. #Winterwatch
The Richmond Foodbank has launched an emergency appeal for food donations. Please consider making a donation at one of their drop off food donations sites.

@Lizevanslondon@EastSheenVlg@livingstreets Unfortunately “paper” coffee cups cannot be recycled with paper and cardboard due to their plastic lining. Some cafe chains accept them for recycling such as @CostaCoffee & @StarbucksUK (or used to, pre-pandemic)but at home they’d go into the landfill bin https://t.co/OnSRZcwcuI
Initially I just picked up two plastic bags blown into the brambles by the wind on Palewell but ended up filling them with plastic bottles, snack wrappers and freezer bags, the unwelcome ghosts of picnics past. Please take your rubbish home so it doesn’t harm wildlife
