plasticfreeworcester

We are Plastic Free Worcester, part of Surfers Against Sewage's Plastic Free Communities campaign to reduce single use plastics in the UK.

[plasticfreeworcester @plasticfreeworc]

😢 the fight is not over.

[Surfers Against Sewage @sascampaigns]

This is awful.😢

How did elastic bands end up on a remote Cornish island beach? Seabirds are regurgitating the bands, after mistaking them for worms. They've been spotted feeding them to their young.

[Greta Thunberg @GretaThunberg]

Today is World #OvershootDay
A day that sadly happens earlier and earlier each year.
That means that today we’ve globally used up the worlds annual resources. The rest of the year we are stealing from future generations and poorer parts of the world.

What are your thoughts on @Morrisons paper bag trial?

[Becky @plasticbyebye]

@Morrisons Your paper bag trial is being hotly debated on Worcestershire Women's Society FB page. Main criticisms - why give cheaper choice of plastic bags? Why keep plastic option at all? What about plastic bagged cauliflowers, etc?

[plasticfreeworcester @plasticfreeworc]

The latest school to take on the plastic free challenge: @HollymountScho1 ! Lots of fab ideas discussed today as Y4 pupils and teachers grappled with the challenge of removing 3 items of plastic from school at today's workshop delivered by PFW. Good luck!

[plasticfreeworcester @plasticfreeworc]

[Surfers Against Sewage @sascampaigns]
