to make it worse @carrier only allows our repair technician to purchase from a single (monopoly) authorized parts dealer. They also change part numbers so that non-OEM parts do not match. Some newer motors even require programing to work.
If you're looking for another example of private equity ruining businesses, look no further than @carrier. We had our blower motor die and have been waiting over a week for a replacement part. A critical part required to provide heat in winter, and they don't keep it stocked.
@EricaZelic https://t.co/sbHcZEtzLa is free.
https://t.co/U7fXivZiOD is very affordable and has a ton of connectors, including Azure to import your architecture. Very affordable for what it does.
@RichmondDPU it would be great if you’d post news of the water pump failure that’s leading to low pressure across the city! It could have saved me sitting on hold for over 30 minutes. (Also think about getting an @bluesky account)
@merill Would love to see a column that shows what areas they cover. Most have it in their profile, but it would be nice to see who talks about what when scrolling the list.
@FrankMcG@TimMedin Next was “Us” (1977) 👀”still people, but not ‘them’, just ‘us’”. Then came “Self” (1979). He predicted next would me “Me” magazine that was just mirrored pages. Who knew he was predicting social media. 😢
I think about that prophetic joke a lot these days with sadness.
@FrankMcG@TimMedin In the 80’s I remember watching a Peter, Paul and Mary concert on PBS. Paul Stookey had a joke about Magazine names. We started with “Life” magazine (published 1883) “can’t get much bigger than life”, next came “People” (1977). “Still pretty big, but you know, not ‘life’”.🧵1/2
@FrankMcG@HankYeomans I feel the same way. For me this place has done so much for my IT career but it may be time to hit the RSS feeds and blogs again. I not am is worth it in the long run.
Any top picks for immigration friendly countries?
@wiliamsdarin@andreasrva I can point to a single city where that’s true. If you can point me to a city that didn’t build housing and people decided not to move there please let me know. And can. You point to any vacancy rate data in RVA, or is that just your impression?
I’ve heard from so many folks who become @andreasrva fans once they learn more about him and his platform
If you’re looking for someone who knows how to get things done in City Hall and has a smart plan for making housing, K-12, and development better, vote Addison!
@MyNameIsMurray@NathanMcNulty@merill Did you ever try no password (just hitting enter at login with just username)? I had it configured with another MDM to create account using Entra and passwordless and what I discovered (by accident) is that it actually creates the account with a blank password! 😬😅
The 1st council district deserves a leader like @andreasrva who represents their interests well while being forward-thinking for the good of the whole city. If you want well-funded schools, fare-free busses, and safer streets, vote Gumby for Council in the 1st!
@say_rahh__ From a security standpoint she did good (so hard to train people not to allow “tailgaters”). If it’s a small enough building that she should know you and doesn’t, then 👎
@merill@NathanMcNulty To repeat back the process, the user creates a local password for the computer at onboarding. Then they use TAP to onboard to their MS account (which stores their PRT token to the Secure Enclave) and then are required to setup MFA.
@wiliamsdarin@andreasrva Yes because limited supply increases demand and so those with more money (often those moving from more expensive areas) are willing to pay more for a scarce resource.
