We are so excited to see the Ocean Wise @PlasticsLab in this article of 7 things British Columbians did to make the world a better place in 2022 from the @NorthShoreNews!

Check out our NEW report! By making simple yet effective changes when doing laundry, such as washing on gentle and in cold water, you can drastically decrease microfiber pollution.
Latest @PlasticsLab study in partnership with @Samsung Electronics and @Patagonia shows that ‘gentle’ wash cycles reduces #microfiber shedding. Partnering with industry to develop science-based #solutions to this critical issues, https://t.co/SeIEA0uYJV #microplastics
It's #CircularEconomyMonth🔁✨visit https://t.co/d8knQWmCTQ to learn more! By consuming less raw material, and maximizing use, we can eliminate plastic waste. Check out @OceanWise Plastics Reduction Program to help reduce your plastic footprint!
Plastic waste is a major contributor to pollution - using the #CircularEconomy principles we can reduce plastic leakage into the ocean. Sign up for the Plastic Reduction Program at https://t.co/Ms9ce03lWA to help your business reduce its plastic footprint.
The Plastics lab will be at #InternationalCoastalCleanupDay THIS Saturday the 17th in Vancouver and we hope to see you there too! Follow the below link for registration and details for @OceanWise cleanups across Canada
Join us on #InternationalCoastalCleanupDay for shoreline cleanup in Toronto, Vancouver & Halifax! https://t.co/crEMkJ3mt4. Plus, register for a #ShorelineCleanup on Sept 17 in Canada & be entered in a contest for a chance to win a pair of round-trip @AirCanada flights! Details ⬇️
How do we count microplastics in oceans around the world? Our own researcher Kevin Landrini @OceanWise with @SailGPCAN@BertoldIsabella in Saint-Tropez - who'll be collecting tow-net samples at🌍race locations to be sent to our lab!
Will we find diff. plastics at diff. places?
The ocean is our racetrack and the more data we have on it, the better we can understand and protect it. Here in St-Tropez, we did some water sampling together with @OceanWise, to measure the level of microplastic pollution in the water. Results to come in a few week's time 🔬
Last month, for #PlasticFreeJuly, we hosted a #webinar on the power of @OceanWise plastics data. We had such a successful turnout, and thank everyone who joined us! Watch the full webinar on Youtube:

Our report “Me, My Clothes and the Ocean” is referenced on @iciradiocanada with Marie-Chantal Ross of @CNRC_NRC. Even if 90% of microfibres are trapped during wastewater treatment, that leaves 10% or the equivalent of 10 blue whales destined for the ocean https://t.co/qFvvh6bZUA
We're hosting a webinar next week with @cleanshorelines to celebrate #PlasticFreeJuly! We'll dive into how @OceanWise plastics data is making a difference in ocean conservation. RSVP below!
Want to help us achieve our goal of a plastic free ocean this #PlasticFreeJuly? Join our FREE webinar where we'll unravel the impact of plastics data through microfiber shedding from at-home laundry & citizen science litter data.
