Trinity Metals has completed the first controlled blast at its Musha Mine, marking a significant milestone in the mine's transformation toward a more mechanized and productive operation.
The blast was conducted on Level 5 of the Heza Decline and comprised 28 charged blast holes. Each round is expected to advance approximately 1.2 metres. That is up from approximately 0.15 metres per day under current development methods. The faster pace will support access to deeper tin-bearing zones and extend the life of the mine.
Musha is Rwanda's second largest tin producer after Trinity's Rutongo Mine, with first production from Level 5 expected within the next six months.
