@turbofish_pk @XLibreDev Yeah, KDE is one of the big environments. If I want a system like enlightenment or lxqt etc it takes a ton of manual configuration. By the time wayland is "ready" it'll be a hodpodge mess the same way xorg is now. I dont care what others use. I care abt the reaction to LTS for X.

@turbofish_pk @XLibreDev Its because wayland has been in development for over 20 years and still barely works unless you spend hours configuring or use one of the big name environments. Its not nearly feature complete. The real question is why do all thr major distros hate long term support for X?

Xlibre is marginally better but is active with development and will only diverge further.

@CapnCrust @Deezney420 @LundukeJournal I disagree. Teenagers install various Linux distros all the time with limited technical knowledge. They just uses the tools and resources available to them. Yeah you'll probably have to use the wiki or ai! Thats the price we'll have to pay if we want to stop age verification.

@Deezney420 @LundukeJournal Just leave the arch base. Staying arch based gives the arch developers too power. Come join me at Gentoo! Or go hit up Slackware. Its a lot of work but because these distros are so customizable it'll be impossible to stop me from stripping out age verification!

I couldn't get the xlibre overlay to play nice with packages that had a dependency on standard x-org and track pad hw support was disabled out of the box

Does anyone know if OpenRC has taken a stance on this age verification nonsense? I dont want to do the work of swapping to @gentoo or @ArtixLinux Linux if they add age verification garbage next. #gentoo #openrc #artix

@sir_john_jews @ArtixLinux Arch heavily uses systemd. Systemd added age verification. Unless arch manually removes that from their systemd repos (unlikely), or moves away from systemd (also unlikely) then arch has age verification. Aritx is a fork of arch that has systemd removed

I'm a longtime #ArchLinux user but with all of the systemD stuff coming out im really thinking of switching. Do I go Artix to keep to what I know, or do I go #Gentoo as that was my second choice way back in the day when I first went to Linux?

With the recent batch of p320 malfunctions ive considered ditching my p365 for something else. Sig already has a bad rep these days and I think it'll just get worse

@rbarbosatoro @JayOddity Project Gorgon is fantastic. I've been playing for a while now and its the first mmo to give me that magical feeling of an unknown world. The start can be slow because there are so many systems to unpack but once you get rolling you'll have a blast.
