@smithhmackenzie The normalcy of a positive daily routine. We let our guard down, we get sloppy and lazy. Then the unforeseen accident happens and we’re unable to recover.
The mistake the Vikings made was they should signed Darnold to a 2 year contract when he originally signed. The Vikings knew they were going to draft a QB, which takes 2 years to develop. They make the same mistake with Kyler Murray with no franchise tag. That’s why they went out and got Teasley, to stop making these silly mistakes.
Thanks I will check it out. It’s so nice listening to an NFL old-school football guy talk about the modern NFL. This great NFL game we have now just didn’t happen. It was built by guys like yourself and others. It’s fun to listen to guys like you who were swinging the hammer, pounding nails that gave us the game we have now.
@markschlereth You played for two great coaches in your career- Joe Gibbs and Mike Shanahan. What was a couple things they had in common they made them successful and what was a couple things they did different that would only work for them because of their personality traits.
@SenWarren Being jealous, envious and wanting what something someone else has - is the worse personal trait. Worst than being selfish. Because you’ve already (given up) on earning it yourself.
I call it- midlife reset. Just like halftime of the game, you take a little time evaluates the first half of your life with the understanding what you lost with the athletic ability you replaced with wisdom. Make necessary adjustments, or (reset). Go win the second half of life and ride off into the sunset.
Keep asking questions find out what they’re into. Music, sports social media, but I asked like a older brother, not like a dad, show real curiosity. Then you get into it, in order to have conversation. Find ways to make them laugh sometimes you have to be a goof. Give the high-fives and even small victories.
@LewisHowes At your age it’s Christmas morning. You haven’t opened the presents under the tree. Be patient focused and light hearted. Be thankful for the gifts you get under the tree. Go get the things that aren’t, but do it in a way so you never lose Christmas morning childlike feeling.
It’s amazing that Harold Becker, the Director had a vision of that scene in his mind, and want to put it on film. even he had to be surprised how beautiful that scene turned out when over laid by that music. It’s amazing. What an idea and a creative mind/ great acting can bring to life.
Seinfeld was like going to your 5 year high school reunion. Young, overconfident, you say the thing people want to hear. Can’t wait to start living and enjoying all the bright lights. Curb- is your 30th high school reunion. Wisdom has overtaking youth. Time and money spends the same. You don’t have to read my mind, because I just told you what I thought. Thankful every morning you open your eyes and you see light.
Just wondering since Kyler Murray is clearly frustrated that he’s not getting enough reps to learn the Viking offensive system. With Teasley now the new GM it appears that this is actually going to be a quarterback competition. Instead of KOC just giving Kyle the job. Has anyone on the Viking reporting beat, ask Kyler if he wishes to be traded.
For some of us it is good to practice of what you’re going to say in your mind for schedule functions or acquaintance. It helps to have something loaded in the chamber so you can speak with confident and give yourself a runway into the conversation, first and second impressions are important. Paint the picture for them. Don’t be dismissed by a uninformed opinion.
@markschlereth Back in your playing days, and even now with your commentary. You speak with such confidence and conviction. Was that something you learned from a parent, friend or a coach or was that just in your DNA that came out At a certain age while growing up.
@drjamesdinic The wisest and most humble people realize between the age 37 and 53 to prioritize their heartbeat portfolio over the retirement portfolio. Having the humility of accepting aging, taking the necessary step to care for your own body is life living and enjoying a second life.
@AdamSchefter This is why we watch sports. Because in life we all at one time or another are hoping and holding out for a Hero ….. In sports it happens more times than we think. It brings us unexpected joy, hope and life is good once again.
