@LoriBaker7 If that's not a demonstration of children with no phonemic awareness, what is! They know the meaning of language but all things to do with fragmenting it into sound parts do not compute. So of course they would fragment based on the meaning (cat) and fragment down to sounds🐈

@reading_league Screeners and other measures can be amazing tools! Teachers in our kindergarten pilots used an assessment with 6 sets of phonemes to make sure students learned to blend. Kids scoring red/yellow got more playtime with Roly until their score turned to green. Playful intervention!
