The powerful habit successful entertainers use to fast track results they’ve never previously enjoyed.
Stephen Covey said it best:
“Begin with the end in mind.”
Even with small tasks, ask:
“What will this look like when it’s done?”
As a solo entertainer, you’re really good at juggling lots of different tasks.
However, sometimes things go awry. Too much to do, not enough time.
What are the circumstances where you move from managing well, into overwhelm?
What COULD you do to prevent this in the future?
3 reasons your entertainment work goals might suck:
1. You have a WANT not a GOAL.
2. Your goal might be too LOW RESOLUTION to function as a goal.
3. It’s something you think SHOULD be a goal, but you’re not actually inspired by it.
Set clear meaningful goals.
GO FOR IT!
Why did your early entertainment goals stop working?
They were vague intentions or wants, not goals.
At the beginning of your career that was enough to make progress.
Now what you want is more nuanced.
Now you have to make high resolution, detailed, goals to make progress.
1 common mistake entertainers make, even when they have a goal, is mis-representing challenges to themselves.
Is there anything in your way that you are exaggerating or downplaying?
What could happen if you made a new, more accurate, assessment of the challenge?

1 simple question entertainers should ask themselves to get unstuck quickly:
What is the GOAL of my GOAL?
There will be multiple different ways to get to the real result you want, don’t be too fixated on one specific HOW.
Kickstart your entertainment work goals with this step: Pen, paper, and 6 minutes. Write down 50 things you WANT to do. It's part of a bigger process to turn desires into concrete goals. Stay tuned for the next step! #GoalSetting#Entertainmentprofessional#NextStepComingSoon
How to create a vision for your entertainment work:
1. Deeply remember a moment of peak creativity.
2. Imagine a future with huge positive changes in entertainment & beyond.
3. See yourself actively contributing to this vision. What do you do?
4. Write down what you imagined.
• NHS Hospital Canteen: ‘Single Tuna sarnie’ costing £3.00 for nurses, paid for out of their own wage
• Houses of Parliament: ‘Rum banana tarte tatin with rum and raisin ice cream’ for the princely sum of £2.37 for MPs, paid for by you the taxpayer
Nurses’ fight is our fight.
My jaw hit the floor when I discovered Boris Johnson left an emergency NATO meeting after the Kremlin’s chemical warfare attack on Britain & flew to an off-the-books meeting with an ex-KGB spy.
Yours should too.
This is how it happened.

It’s the goal that matters right? Yes, and how you get there is important too. How will you treat the people you meet on the way? How should you be treated? How good should the work be? Do you know what is and IS NOT ? #entertainment#artisticdirector#Creatives
