Why is early identification and treatment important:
The skull is most malleable & has the most rapid brain growth during the first 3 months of life. Brain growth slows at 5-6 months. The sooner you address torticollis & plagiocephaly, the better and faster the outcomes.
What is torticollis? Torticollis is a common condition involveing tightness & weakness in your baby's neck muscles. It typically presents as a head rotation &/or head tilt. You may notice a flat spot on your infant’s head from their preference to hold their head in 1 position.
