@BosniaNTBall That's good. I guess they got backlash for trying to make people pay for the Premium package.
BTW, it used to come with the regular package at no extra cost. About a year ago, they decided to charge for the Premium package, even though it's basically the same as the regular one.
Fans in Bosnia-Herzegovina will be able to watch our World Cup opener against Canada on Arena Sport 1 that is available with basic subscription. It was originally planned to be televised on Arena Sport Premium channel where you would pay additionally for the package to watch.
Since there’s been a misunderstanding about what I mean:
The domestic league as a whole doesn’t necessarily need to improve. What is important is the youth development system that produces and exports players. For that, you mainly look at the 2–3 top clubs, not the league overall.
Develop players, manage them properly, ideally give them European football exposure, and sell them at the right time.
Compare it to Portugal, where around 75% to 90% of their national team players come from just 3/4 clubs. We don’t have the resources as a country to have a fully competitive league from top to bottom.
And it’s not even about the overall strength of those top clubs. For our standards, the current trend of consistently playing European football is already more than enough.
Their overall strength can also come from smart recruitment abroad, which is important financially and can also benefit the youth & infrastructures. But in terms of the national team, all that really matters is the clubs’ youth development and ability to export players.
World Cup semi-finalists Morocco and Croatia have only 2 domestic league players in their squads. Uruguay & Senegal zero. Then you also have some other strong European countries further down the list.
The narrative that you need a strong domestic league to have a good national team is nonsense. What you need domestically is a consistent and effective way to produce youth players and then export them. The only way clubs in our region can make real progress.
Our league can improve, but it will never become a decent league because the resources just aren’t there. What can and should happen is that 2 to 3 clubs become relevant in Europe and are able to develop and export youth players.
In the last 5 years we’ve developed some NT-level players, including even a starter for our neighbours. Not enough but there is progress.
Velež Mostar and Sloga Doboj have been hit with a transfer embargo.😳
FIFA has suspended both clubs from registering any new players for the upcoming season.
It is a huge blow, especially for the team from Mostar, which is set to compete in European competitions this summer.
As reported by multiple news outlets in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Velež Mostar and Sloga Doboj will not be able to register any new signings from June 1st.
I'm curious to hear how big of a blow this will be for Velež. Considering they'll be competing in Europe.

It’s official: Mario Cvitanović is no longer the coach of FK Sarajevo.
He came to extinquish the fire from early in the season, in which he succeeded. He was never going to be our Sir Alex or Guardiola. There are some moments that I’ll never forgive him for, but overall he did OK given his situation.
